I was offering some advice about art and one told me to open it up as a thread all it's own! So here it is! Please share pictures of your gestures! I'd love to see what people come up with. Gestures, whether you're doing them or looking at them, are a great art exercise, tool and reference/resource.

I have a Pinterest board with 150 different poses if anyone wants it
That was pinteresting!
Did some random gestures. Some are more detailed than others cuz I like doing those 1 minute gestures XD
Those are sooooo pretty - I love the ballet; reminds me of ice skating a lot.Also...Summary
This totally looked like a butt to me for a solid minute
Keeping this bookmarked! <3
I think this doesn't truely fit the gesture term, as I used simple forms underneath. But still it was a good practice. And here is an webside I use for training ^^ https://www.quickposes.com/en (The gestures in the sketch are without reference though)
I did a few from my mind, free form. I like that one that looks like the person's looking at a watch.
This is a great idea for a topic. I don't take a lot of time to practice this particular exercise. Maybe I will now.BTW everyone has uploaded some great stuff so far!
It's all about not thinking and being fluid. I think? I know my art went from being chunky and blocky to a lot more fluid poses after I started doing these.
Ooh, gestures! Yeah!
Oh, and if you're curious, here's the finished product of this~
A lot of sword play saved for someone who does a comic about jazz haha!
Hey, Saxophones can be held like swords I suppose!!
A blunt instrument of deadly caliber!
Fantastic- time to draw someone's demise through a musical instrument! I smell a new mystery novel in the making.
I just mentally replace them with drum sticks
I tried that once! I choked
Now I want a saxaphone that shoots deadly drum sticks like some sort of twists blow-gun!
@dawgofdawgness @storytimebiondi I hereby order one of you two to doodle gestures of this silliness before it gets off topic lol! I would myself, but I'm logging off to sleep now.
I tried drawing some gesture digitally
Omg I would love this, but it would be completely useless because the drumsticks would just shoot diagonally upwards.. Although it would make a great weapon for hunting birds
I imagine the sax would operate like a cornicopia greek horn thing where you just aim it and the stuff would shoot out?
