for me I was heavily inspired by shadow slave which I'm currently reading, I love the system tropes within it and also like that the main character isn't favoured by luck. The system in shadow slave ends up pushing the character into bad situations instead of good ones which I find interesting.

I was also heavily inspired by tbate in which the mana and magic system was what I found cool. I like the idea of saturating a part of your body to become stronger along with the powers later on in the novels that I wont get into for obvious reasons

that's why my story has adopted two separate power systems, one that belongs solely to the mc, the system that puts him into bad and awkward situations and mana which originates from their hearts and can be used in multiple ways.

For Lunacy, multiple inspirations came into play: The Vile Village by Daniel Handler; Lovecraft; and Over the Moon (it's where the idea for the object of worship for the Satanic cult being the Chinese moon goddess Chang'e came from)

Crystal Blue is inspired by my love of fairy tales. I like taking traditional lore and ideas and turning them on their head/reimagining them. Hence, our venomous mermaids, immortals who generally don't live very long, ageless fairies who age themselves on purpose, fauns with hypnotism power based in their vocal vibrations etc.

I write short stories, so i get inspired by many things. Most of the time by side characters from other private works I write, which if I were to look into their inspirations would just get out of hand real quick. I suppose one over arching thing I get grabbed by, however, is "emotions". I want to capture emotions and show just how ugly they can get. And another thing I am inspired by is the old gothic horror books from the 1800s/early 1900s. I think that's my writing style inspiration, but I'm no where near as good as the classics obviously haha.

1) Bible, Dhammapada, Meditations, books by Eckhart Tolle, Dan Millman, David Icke, many other assorted books on spirituality

2) various shonen anime.. Bleach, Naruto, Yuyu Hakusho, etc

3) certain "cult" films like fight club, matrix, the Heathers, etc.

4) various blackpilled or redpilled youtubers like Hamza, Wheat Waffles, etc.. and related "manosphere" sites revolving around mgtow, incels, pua, etc

5) Alex Jones, coast to coast am, Naama Kates, various podcasts related to paranormal, conspiracy, social issues, etc.

One day, I was in the mood for romance. But not anyone else's. Mine. I quickly realised that I don't have nearly enough romance. That's what Love Like No One's Watching was inspired by. I wanted to read a romance of my own. Light/heavy themes notwithstanding.

My first and currently only series I have posted on Tapas, Haru and Tsukasa, is basically a mix of all the things that have interested me within the past five years.

So all the comics and manga I have read have influenced my comic or my art style in some way, like Tintin, Asterix, Lucky Luke, Iznogoud, The Smurfs, Sailor Moon, Fruits Basket, Cardcaptor Sakura, Yotsuba&!, Azumanga Daioh, Garfield, Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Dog Man, and Usagi Yojimbo.

As well as any other kind of media I have read or watched, like Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, War and Peace, Star Wars, and even music like The Beatles, Queen, Rolling Stones, and the countless other media that I have seen, read, or heard.

Not to mention any of my beliefs that may subtly influence this comics.

tl;dr, Haru and Tsukasa has been influenced by a large amount of media that interest me.

The inspiration of my novel is Red Sonja and a stab a criticizing Re:Monster.

A progression fantasy and I'm hoping that it will also appeal to both male and female audiences.

For my book, the inspiration I got was from the movie You People on Netflix. In many races interracial relationships are sort of frowned upon. Especially Black culture where me and my main character Harper are from. The movie You People is a comedy that came out in like 2020 and after watching that movie I immediately thought, "Wouldn't it be crazy if I made this white man fall in love with this black girl??" And thus, Stuck With Me was born.

My web-novel is very heavily inspired by all the Light Novels/Anime I've consumed over the years. In particular, the biggest influence is from Re:Zero, what with the groundhog day power and butler/maid theme. I absolutely loved Rem and Wilhelm in the series, so my main characters accidentally wound up being a combat maid and butler duo.

Then there's the game series Dishonored and Bioshock; these are more mild in influence, but the mystic elements mixed with a Steampunk world is the vibe I'm going for with my series. The first 11 chapters are up and ready, but stayed tuned for the next ones out later this week!

Hi Aquashark! Thanks for making this promotion thread.

For those people out there, I didn't have one particular inspiration for my story. It was more so taken fro a multitude of different mediums. It was probably inspired by my love of anime and various books that involve magic and academies as well as different mysterious elements that can affect your world in many ways. I love fantasy so much and I love a good mystery novel as well. Plus if it is a fantasy mystery which this novel is (though it has a lot of action in it as well.) If you are a fan of anime and haven't seen Wand and Wistoria. I highly recommend that show!
