For those of you that write poetry, share some here! I'm currently working on a poem, and I'll post it when it's done

I'll be honest, I haven't written any poetry in awhile but I do have some older poems for my stories "Red Shift" and "Mega-Egypt" that I'm proud of. All of them are from 2018-2019 but I still like them. :boom:

"Red Shift"

Shifting towards the red

Abyssal fervor rising

Synchronize with me

Against the sea of flames

Devouring luminous worlds

String theory unraveling

Mother oxidizing-

Inferno converting-

I will transform

As the primordial hellscape

To become the

Unity.

.
.
.

"Season In My Mind (Ecumenopolis Rising)"

Crepuscular light splitting a void

Where the citadel crystallizes

And the ecumenopolis rises

Giving birth to the end of worlds

Who infiltrates through the system

Flickering against the hellfire

Scorching terra firma

His impatience

Creating a season in my mind.

.
.
.

"Sun Disk"

Sweep with vigor

Across the horizon

Tsunami of gold

And glittering sand

Beneath the dazzling sun disk

Above the raging pyramids

Agleam with shiny, shiny history

Of crystalline Gods

And breathy souls.

Can it be silly?

"Transformation"

You wandered through life with your head in a cloud
Made up of only human bits and pieces
Until a magician converted your physical form
(for her Doctor of Physics thesis)

Molecular transmogrification it seemed
Was no longer just science fiction.
You thought that you wanted to be a cat then
So she changed you without any friction.

But beware when you get what you ask for,
For it may not turn out like your dreams.
Take care to look before you leap.
Not everything is just as it seems.

That's a really cool topic! I write mostly in russian as it's my native language, but I have some poetry in english too.

The first one is from my comic:

The second one was dedicated to my boyfriend and describes our love story:

In heavy hands
Of darkest night
There was a strength
To shine a light,
With love and care
Made lucent heat
And tried to share
With noisy weed.
The softest touch,
A sudden glow...
Left not so much,
Again alone.
Another day
Did nothing bring,
Hope fade away
Till found a spring.
In silver stream
In shiny sky
Was born a dream,
Courage to try
To share a grief,
A pain, a fear,
Get a relief,
That someone's near,
And everything
You dreamed to give
They want to bring
And never leave.
I close my eyes,
Let go my past,
No more disguise,
Will learn to trust
And hand in hand
To never brake it
On fire land
Defenseless naked
We step and stay.
"You feel what's gone?
I'm done" - I say -
"With being lone."
Sarcastic fate
Connected us
Through other's hate
Turned into dust.
So bright we glow,
We burn and heat,
For sure I know:
I love you, sweet.

And this was about something, ha-ha:

You made me doubt, you made me think
The issue was in my existence.
Don’t wanna feel the pain you bring
And I will better keep my distance.
Don’t wanna feel that killing fear
Of losing your love and favor
And soon you will be never near,
I will depend on you no more.

Here's one I wrote on the Grindadrap (the whale killings in the Faroes.) It's pretty gory, reader discretion advised.

Grindadrap

I run away
Desperately seeking salvation
Eardrums drowning in noise
Herded to the bay
Where hairless monsters wait

Cruel steel knife,
Maw of blades,
Valuing my body patriarchally.
Tearing me apart layer by layer
Stealing my very core

Filled with mercury, weeping quicksilver tears
I am thrown to your children so they may feed on me
And grow mad
And yet I am the animal

Whirring teeth steal my fins
Like you did to the sharks
Unholy stigmata
Flayed, stabbed, I lie on the slaughtering place of cruel sand

Blood flows, helplessly flapping
Trapped in your bay of living he'll
Abandon hope all ye who approach the Faroes
Ragnarok of cold metal, reach my heart
Spare me the pain of living
And end my agony
As you ended my life
And that of my mother
And her mother
And her mother
Millenniums of gore, is there no end to this?
