Hey there, folks! Howell, here. I'm as ecstatic as a jumping bean in a frying pan because, as of today, I finally published the entirety of my first novel on Tapas! And I'm so freakin' overjoyed about this personal milestone, that I want people to share their completed novels, too! And why not share the story behind it, for those who have yet to fully publish their work? I'm sure anyone would love to hear encouragement from like-minded people pursuing their craft! <3

I'll start with mine. It's called Frightful & Delightful. Volume One Starts Here: https://tapas.io/episode/11254701.
I've been developing my story since I was fifteen--which was ten years ago!! There were times where I felt like giving up or thought that my story wasn't interesting enough. But hot darn, I kept persevering because I believed in the message of my story: a love letter to my family and all families out there made up of black sheep and outcasts! In college, my friend (D. R. Black on Tapas--check out their work!) told me about Tapas's July Writers Camp of 2018. I joined, published a page everyday, AND... got, like, next to last place in popularity. Haha! Oh well. I kept on publishing, despite having to move to different countries and jobs throughout my life. And here we are! I'm now perfecting my current novel by adding illustrations and animations, and I'm already almost done writing the first draft of my second book! If you have a story in your heart, then I tells yah, you gotta let it out! It's a journey worth taking!

My novel is free-to-read! And it will remain so, gosh darn it!
Lemme ask you: What do you get when Looney Tunes, with a penchant for cult monster movies, has their hands on a Japanese anime? You'd probably get Frightful & Delightful, the first adventure in the Long-Lost Youth Chronicles! If you like monsters, demons, royalty, teenage angst, comedy, horror, political intrigue, snarky bridge-trolls, and tea-drinking zombies, then ain't this story just for you! But be warned: if you got yourself any phobias, you may be in for a bad time. BAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!

Thanks for hearing me prattle! Now let's celebrate novelists everywhere!

Congrats on finishing your novel!! Wow that's awesome that you started so long ago. It's definitely a great and proud feeling to have finished!

My completed novel was actually written back in 2016, and finished in 2018. When I learnt about Tapas in 2019, I edited it and posted it here.

Genre: Historical Romance, Fantasy
Follow Empress Wu Zetian's treacherous journey from the hands of enemy Tufan soldiers back to the Forbidden City where she battles foes from within her own kingdom.

Niiiice! Historical novels are so fun to read! And I love Chinese culture! I'll definitely give it a read.
Congratulations on finishing it! ^_^

Congratulations on the completion, if anyone's curious to take a look I have two novels here on the site I'm working on.

One for around over two years now the other for over one year.

I love the art for that.

Also, I'll be here really soon... I can't wait!

Niiiice! That kinda reminds me of C. S. Lewis. He just pops out a Narnia book once a year or so. Tolkien didn't admit it directly, but he was super jealous of his friend about it (considering it took him his whole life to write the LotR books). Haha!
