While Louise isn't my ultimate favorite design in "Sketchy Business" because I really like all of them, she's one of few characters I really felt look like a 'real' character design when I finished her that I could easily imagine being a character in a TV show or something.

Fun fact about her design, her hair was inspired by e-girl hair, but since she's a curly girly, i wanted to see what it would look like if I left her natural and didn't lay her edges for the sake of the trend.

My favorite design in my comic is probably Suen, purely because she’s the most fun to draw, but I love all of them equally! …mostly

In the early stages of plotting the story out, Suen’s right eye was meant to have a normal cataract, and was just added in there as a reference to The Telltale Heart, with no real bearing on the plot other than that eye being blind. Over time, it changed to it not containing an iris or pupil at all, and that ended up being a pretty important part of why exactly someone else’s eye has such a weird effect on her.

Despite, y’know, making them, I have no idea what color the accents on her dress are supposed to be. They might be teal, they might be black, they might be some weird fabric weave with teal one way and black the other, but I can’t tell you which one they are.

Almost forgot! I wanted her hair to vaguely resemble sea anemone or squid tentacles, and it was only after it had become such an important part of her design that I realized she was WAY too old to have hair that short when the story was set, so it too became plot relevant. Noticing a bit of a trend in how she was designed, I swear most details had a story reason before I drew them!

One of my favorite character designs is Hanako the Singing Flower Witch of Hokkaido from French Cup. He's a middle aged drag queen who's bisexual and is married to a drag king who is also bisexual. Hanako doesn't look like he'd be a drag queen when he isn't dressed like one. He looks like some ordinary middle aged office workers. He in fact is one, as he works in computer security as his day job. As a queen, he looks like some kind of Greek goddess with long flowing dresses like in ancient Greece, flowing long hair to the ground, fresh flower crowns, and his makeup is often themed such as when he themed it to look like a pink hued deer's face and wore white deer horns on his head. The most striking thing about his outfits are his custom made fairy wings that are enormous and elaborate. He is a singing queen who sings live. His personality is floaty and ethereal, and often his comedic delivery in this comedy is unexpected. Such as, he is from Hokkaido in Japan and you can legally own a gun there for hunting purposes. One of his friends says, "just shoot me now, I have so much to do!" and everyone laughs and he says, among the laughter very quietly and sweetly, "I know someone who owns a gun." He will also lean over to the main character occasionally and say whispered things like, "what do zombies say on St Patrick's Day?" and the main character is like, "what o.o" and Hanako says, "Brians." Which makes the main character groan and then Hanako's wife slaps Hanako.

French Cup is a comedy about drag queens in Tokyo battling invading Karens who want to turn their queer neighborhood into a gentrified rich yuppy wasteland! Come join us! We have cake!

Pudding is usually floral printed, but that's not natural. she is naturally blue, somehow, but the floral pattern comes from her furless daddy painting her.
