I've always been found of all sorts of paranormal and unexplained. I believe many of us do as well. So share your encounters with creepy/scary/weird and unexplained here.
I have one cool story but i'ts a bit long and I'm kind of lazy at the moment, so I'll start with another one. Itsshort and has pretty antyclimactic ending, but interesting anyway.
So it hapenned shortly after the movie Ring came out, and at the moment we had a home cinema room at our basement where I watched ut first time. I was a teen at the moment and damn, I was scared by it back then.
So, about a week after wathing the movie I went down to the basement and for whatever reason entered the cinema room. The TV was on displaying a noice on the screen. "Ok. Weird. Probably someone has forget to switch it off" - I thought. I took the remote, shut it off and went back to the businesses I had at the room. Few moment later it turned back on again displaying white noice. At this point it really creeped me out. So I came to to the TV and pushed the button on it - it turned off and won't turn on again.
It turned out the remote was broken and has been doing whatever it wanted at random.
Yeah... Hope your story is more satisfying then mine

A long time ago, when I was a teen, I had a horrible night.
I was awaken by a nightmare, and couldn't fall asleep again, because I wanted to piss. That night electricity was cut off due the problems on power plant, so I had to go to the toilet in the darkness. I always was scared of darkness, so it was the big dilemma for me: to suffer until morning, or to overcome my fear and accomplish a courageous journey to the bathroom.
I've chosen the second option.
So, gathering all my courage, I got out of bed, opened the door to the dark corridor, which was lightened only by moonlight and moved toward the door of even more dark, scary toilet. My heart was pounding the whole time. And when I opened the door of the toilet, I've seen THE EYES. BIG GLOWING EYES. And the next moment something big jumped toward me! It was one of the scariest moments in my life. I was scared the hell out and stood as still as a statue.
And only when THE THING jumped out to the corridor, I've recognized what it was in moonlight... it was my cat. Probably someone just closed it in the bathroom accidentally. When I realized it, I started to laugh.
It was so spooky and ridiculous at the same time, that I still remember it.

BTW, is it only me or it's a normal thing? When I close my eyes (preferably when it's dark) and try to look up somewhat "forcefully" - I can see two distinguishable rings in front resembling cat eyes. I discovered it first when was a kid and it kind of scared me at first.

As for a story, the first thing that comes to my mind whas something that continuousy happened in a place I lived. When I was in high school, my family went through some economical difficulties, so we moved into an old house that had been used as a storage place for years. We cleaned it out and made it back into a house, and during the time we were remodeling, it didn't seem weird that in the evening there would be a cool breeze in one part of the house, because there was a gap between the walls and the ceiling, and it wasn't well insulated. But once it was all fixed up, that cold breeze kept happening from time to time, like once every two weeks or so. This was also one of those old downtown houses where there is no separation between the houses, it's one big continuos block, so it really made no sense for such a thing to happen in the interior areas of the house. There wasn't even a window in the rooms it was happening. If it had been just me who could perceive the air, I would have assumed it was just me being weird, but the four of us noticed it.
Anyways, it was harmless. We moved out some years later, and I'll probably never know what it was. Maybe better so.

I don't know if it counts as a scary story, but when I was studying at the uni. I was once helping one of my classmates to study for a midterm. In our apartment building there was a cellar, and every time my classmate came to my apartment he was joking: "Damn it stinks! Are you hiding a body down there?". The cellar had a lot of canalization pipes in there, so it was always stinky and nobody really payed any attention to the smell, besides my classmate. That is, until the spring came, and the smell became bad even for us. So, one of our neighbors finally decided to check what the problem was, and what they found was a body, that was slowly decomposing in the cellar, for several months.
It turned out that one of our neighbors downstairs had an argument with her boyfriend somewhere in December. When the argument turned into a fight and it went a bit too far, she just ditched the body into the cellar, and left it there to be found only in May.

every time my classmate came to my apartment he was joking: "Damn it stinks! Are you hiding a body down there?"

We have a small pool on our yard but since we don't use it we have made a tent contrsution to cover it. Whenever some of my new-visiting friends would ask what's in there, some of my other friends would usually reply: "This is where he keeps bodies of dead prostitutes." Yeah... I don't have friend anymore.
As to your story - that's pretty messed up. Did she keep living there all that time?

• Years ago, I stayed late at my junior highschool. As what some stupid kids decided to do, we have a tour to the one of "scariest" place there, the storage room. All my friends chickened out and I was the one who get near and opened the door, there was nothing as I proclaimed to them. Feeling cocky I closed the door, before a mysterious humanoid figure just dashed inside in front of me. It was as fast as a blink, flesh colored (a.k.a maybe naked), and there was nothing I could get except it was taller than me and having male body. It left no trace, no sound, but left a lasting impression. I was just confused about what that was until now, I did not tell my friends.

• Something was knocking my room window, and the more I thought it was wind or animal, the more it became more rythmical and clear. I was looking on my phone to divert myself, but I could not find it on the table I put it. I found it due to sudden sound of it playing music (I always set it on vibrate), it was inside a drawer in my room. I never put my phone in a drawer.

• Still inside my house, my uncle's friend came to stay and claimed that somebody was knocking the door when he took a bath, no one did that of course. He also felt followed inside my house.

• Another one from my house. A bratty, noisy, active, and annoying little child got inexplicably silence and sulky inside my house, like she was just being scolded when no one did. A family relative who claimed to have "sixth sense" visited and said "Someone upstairs doesn't like small children."

• There is an almost century-old family mansion with colonial architecture which my aunt's family lives in, my mom's family also lived there. My cousin often heard her mom calling her name when taking a bath or home alone, only to came to no one. My mother also said there was often heard mysterious noises like clanging barrel in storage room and such. Also there was found lots of snakes in its garden and well.

• Back in highschool a certain toilet stall is known to be haunted, a friend saw a face there and some other heard inexplicable knocks. I as an edgy kid back then used this as an advantage to scare some kids who were noisy as fuck inside the toilet.

• Still in the same highschool but in the dormitory, I had an "infectious" nightmare including an entity, which will appear to people who "felt lonely and has no one." That certain entity always appeared the same at same location without I sharing the details about her.

• In same dorm also, I heard a laughing voice that does not belong to any of my roommates (everyone was asleep, and my room was near abandoned field). My friend also saw a "tall, lanky, figure" who watched us sleep.

This story is a bit long so I'll put her in few parts for convenience. So it would be:

The Bevers' House P-1
It was right at the begining of 2000's when I was 12-14y.o. One day me and a cople of my friend were coming home from the school and decided to take a cut-off and go a different way. Theis is when we saw that abandoned comunal house. It was a soviet-type 5-story building and being comunal means it had a long coridor along the whole building and on both sides there were rooms where multiple families lived; at the and of the coridor you would have a common kitchen, toilets and showers. Being a kids living without internet we decided to come back later and explore.
And so we did. The building was empty. Everything of value was taken away: water piping, electric cables, windows, doors, furniture... So you had a gaping holes in walls and floor all over again. The first floor was almost fully covered with beer bottles and feces, since homeles and all sorts of narcomans would visit it oftenly. But the rest of the floors were different. All the stuf peple had left in their room was piled on both ends of the coridors.
In one room that was suposed to be a bathroom we found a seet mounted on a pile of bricks. Right before it was a sheeth of new paper lying on the floor. I don't remember for sure but a bird or a pair owings was drawn on it. Under the paper we found a pair of detatched pigeon wings. The blood was pretty fresh.
But it wasn't the find I want to tell. On one pile of garbage, on second or third floor I noticed a peculir piece of paper. And it had this weird symbol on it - a combination of a swastica and a cross of disorder (if I remember it correctly). Also there was a bunch of weird text but it was hard to understand what it all was about since it was only a half of a sheet. But it looked obviosly like something ocult, so intrigued we started to comb through the rest of the garbage searching for more. And yes, we have found more - that time and the second time when we have returned later. I even managed to find the second half of the document. And it was weird... I still have all most interesting documens so I can provide a photo.
The handwritten text on the left top corner says: "Main hell's reich chancellery. June, 6, 1996" And the text goes about giving a poet A.S. Pushkin, due to his birth day 666 thousands karbovantsiv (amount of money). And then it signed by director as Demian, seniour acauntant - Astaroth, cashier - Beelzebub. In general - it's largely nonssensical thing and obviously was written as some kind of a joke not meant really for anyone.

And on the back - there was a poem. Rather decent one. Nothing satanic or ocult. It's about a sunrise and embracing your true self. But the date it was written: June, 6, 1996 (06.06.96) - 4:01-4:18AM.

But as I said it wasn't the only document we have found ...

My Wife Unit bought an old beat up art deco makeup vanity at a thrift store.

We had to replace the mirror (which cost twice what she paid for the vanity) and she had wanted to refinish and stain it but it had a strange thin wood laminate on the sides that didn't sand well. So I was painting it black to match the rest of the bedroom furniture at the time.

We hadn't really discussed where the finished product was supposed to go in the room. So as I painted the edges of the center drawer I yelled out to her in the other room.

"Where are we going to put this thing?"

Before she answered, I flipped the drawer to paint the other side... and wrote in dark black ink on the underside...

My name is Jack.

I took a reeeeeeeeeeealy long break before finishing the painting and putting it exactly in the middle of the longest wall. Just like it told me to.

I think the reason people are confused is bc of the typo - it should probably be "written" instead of "wrote".
I was confused at first, because it was implied that you wrote it rather than it already having been written there.

If you want to tie up the thread debating what grammar edits you think should be made because "wrote" as a past simple tense, in the narrative, did not provide you with enough contextual clues to work it all out... then have fun.

As a very young child I had a dream where an old man came to me and said goodbye. For some reason this dream unnerved me and I told my mother about it the next morning. I described him to her and apparently the old man in my dream was my great grandfather who I'd never met.

Later on that morning my mother received a phone call that the same great grandfather had died peacefully in his sleep.
