Ship dynamics you love (promote if you have an example in your story)

Hey, saw a video on this and was wondering what ship dynamics that people love to see in stories. Feel free to give some examples, and if you can, give a link if it's in a story you created.

Examples:

The two idiots
The two geniuses.
The Introvert and extrovert.
Etc.

The two geniuses! But I prefer one is book smart & the other is street smart. Or intuition x intellect. Or effort x no effort at all (and absolutely insufferable because of it )

And other forms of opposites attract, like hothead x cinnamon roll, panicky x optimistic, looks soft but actually horrifying x looks horrifying but actually soft, or simply two people who would've hated each other in reality.

But make it clear it's either a dream or something like an unusual occurrence. lol

I love the sarcastic pragmatist x idiotic (in the eyes of the pragmatist) romantic. It makes for really fun conversations, which is what I'm enjoying writing in my current novel.

Note: perspective of a person who don't like romance. The only ship I have in my series is a motorboat.

• Horrible person × Horrible person.
  They truly deserve each others and it's so much fun watching the trainwreck. Something like they stalk each other, manipulate each other, or trying to kill each other.
• Couple that makes you goes "Wait, they're married? I didn't know! I thought they're just roomates!" as their interactions seem very casual and platonic
• Age gap in straight (adult) couple with older female and younger male. Bonus if the older female is the more active one/dominant in the relationship.
• Couple with similar heights. It's easier to crop and fit into square format!

I really like when both characters are awkward outcasts and they form sort of a friendly bond with each other

When a couple isn't fetishized.

That said, I like it when the characters have completely different personalities. Not polar opposites if that makes sense. They have something in common, but that's something the readers have to figure that out. It makes the reader go "what makes them love each other?".

I've said it before, but I love it when a character BRINGS OUT personality traits of their loved one that you didn't think they'd have. Like they're the only one to get them to laugh at something you'd never think they'd laugh at, but when you re-read the story you're like "No wait! THAT MAKES SENSE! THEY WOULD LAUGH AT THAT!".

That Stick Figure Isekai does it. Not sure if I wanna spoil it, but we are getting to this couple who does what I mentioned lol.

My favorite is the power couple. One that's serious and one that's more playful yet can be very serious when need be. Now, I am listing one couple that hypothetical I would've done in the past is Evangeline wasn't, uhm, fruity. Vance is pretty much in love, but he respects Evangeline and, spoilers, the two turn into good friends in the idea that is mutual respect.

Personally, for me, I like the dynamic between 1 person who always is aggressive with good intentions and another who constantly apologizes and is more of a diplomat.

Also, one I love to see as well is someone who is a constant tease and another who is just about to end them but knows they can't. Always funny.

Also a fan of two geniuses; mind games are always entertaining to read about Whether it's Kaguya-sama style trying to get the other to confess first or this thing I'm writing where one character is always trying to sacrifice themself without anyone noticing while the other character is trying to anticipate their thought process and stop them (no promo because it's not out, and won't be for a very long time :'D Mind games are hard to write :P)

In most comics set in a medieval era or isekai the male lead is the cool one and the female lead is always in awe of what her patner is capable of but I love when they switch it and that's why my protagonists have that dinamic even if it in the beginning that's not the case. https://tapas.io/series/The-Maiden-and-the-Prince/info
