Should I change the title font for my webcomic?

Hello, everyone! I'm new here. My name's Porche aka AuroraArt.
I'm the creator of Cryptic Yume. I could see that my old title font wasn't very good to some people. I was thinking about changing it. What do you guys think?

Also, I have another title font I chose (the first one). Which one catches your eyes? My comic is based on cryptids, action, adventure, and humor. It is also light-hearted and epic, with some serious moments.

Thank you, Robosaur. I'm hoping to get more feedback on the logo. I'm really, really thinking about changing it. But I don't want my readers to ask me why? So... I'm getting everyone's opinion on the new logo.

I'm with Robosaur, I actually really like the first font, I like the chipped edges on it a lot. It looks a lot more fitting for the title too in my opinion. I am already a regular reader of your comic btw, can't wait for the next update :3!

i think a different font for the chapter title might tie the page together a little better, too. maybe something thin and less uniform like a handwriting-style font?

My suggestion would be to find a logo(font) that reflects the spirit of the comic- dont just choose a font coz it "looks cool". I went through quite a bit of stuff before I settled on my logo for my [upcoming] comic. The stuff I rejected, was because I felt it didnt represent the essence of what my story was about.

Given the selections you have and the style of your art, I would go with the 2nd one. The 1st one screams cryptic, scary...

I like the first idea more, but i don't really like the font. I woudlook fs font like the first but a little more... dramatic maybe? Heh... I don't know how to say it >.>

@Shanny8 @nattbear I agree with you guys. With all due respect, I'm not looking for a font because it's "cool". I'm searching for a font that fits well with the story.

Take Star Wars for instance. When you see the logo, you noticed that it has "Star" and "Wars" in it. Some people think of it as a "Space opera" or "action-adventure" type story. Same goes with The Secret of Nimh (due to it's dark and mysterious nature) and Bone by Jeff Smith (having funny and serious moments).

With Cryptic Yume, I feel that this font fits well. Why? Because the story is both light-hearted and dark. Plus, it has something to do with cryptids (which are mysterious creatures). With this logo, I want to show readers what they're in for. And when they look at both the title and the cover art, hopefully they'll understand where I'm coming from. But everyone has their opinions, and I respect that.

But I'll keep looking if you want. I respect everyone's advice.

Dunno...the artwork colors look a little too bright for me to see the "cryptic" side of it.

Well actually I didnt mean the font color...I was referring to the artwork posted below the logo.

I also looked at your comic page- it reads as a "Action-Adventure webcomic", which I guess adds to my confusion even more.

Well the term "cryptic" does envoke images of a darker, spookier nature, as well as set a darker tone.

The reason why I chose "cryptic" was because of Celeste's upcoming ability. I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that she has dreams with hidden messages. Dreams that will affect her and those around her. Therefore, the word "cryptic" is another word for "hidden".

So, if you put "cryptic" and "yume" together, you get "hidden dream".

I think of the two you posted, the first suits best, but it is rather heavy in weight and may pull focus from the artwork. Additionally, if you choose the first font for your title, I would change the 'Chapter 1: Chosen One' font as well. At the moment you have something similar to Times New Roman I'm guessing. I would change it to a sans-serif too as I feel it doesn't really suit the artwork.

Font can be so frustrating and after a while it all starts to look the same. I'm experiencing the same thing with my comic too ^_^
