I’m taking some time away from my more serious fantasy novel (Santa Fae) to finally sit down and finish writing my sci-fi Novella, Frontier-0. I had put it off for a long time, for many different reasons, but seeing as how it’s still getting subscribers, it be a shame not to see it through. Everybody hates incomplete stories lol, and I have toyed with doing more with more of the characters. Admittedly, when I set out to write Frontier-0, it was one big experiment to flex my writing muscles and just have fun. I wanted to make it the most fun read I could in my own way, and hopefully that humor connected with people.
One piece that I always was unsure about, and never got any feedback from was Chapter 7, which I admit was done purely for the heck of it lol. My focus was mostly on exploring Captain Lily, and one thing I wanted to try and see how far I could push was her humor. So here, I had her write was is basically a parody of s-m-u-t. Mind you, it’s not actually that, but a humorous versión on the kinda sexy 80’s sci-fi paperback with that kind of cover that read like bad fanfiction, in this case thinking of Princess of Mars lol.
You can literally cut this chapter out and the story doesn't lose anything, but I always thought it was funny and liked having to show how funny Lily was in that way and that this was her hobby, just never heard from anyone if it was. So now before I finish, just wanted to know if I should keep it or if it was distracting or too much. I even considered getting a commission of these character in the story to add to it lol. I don’t know, it was jsut meant to be that linda sexy dumb fun humor taken as far as I could hete lol. Appreciate if anyone takes the time to read it and give me their thoughts, gracias
