Should I get back to drawing?

I knew how to draw before. I was able to draw characters that I think should take an hour to finish. Now, I have this story that I want to convert to manga style. But I dont know, its been a while since I drew. Should i get back to drawing?

If you enjoy drawing then draw! Making comics is a great way to grind and level up your art skills because you'll keep having to draw new poses, expressions, angles, environments and props to tell the story.

If you want to draw, then draw! If you enjoy drawing, then draw! Even if you're rusty or feel like you aren't at your best, you aren't going to get any better by not drawing. The only way to get back into the groove is to get back at it. And I firmly believe that, even if your art isn't as good as it used to be, drawing and creating is good for the soul.

If you want to! Even if your art looks bad, keep practicing, and it will get better. It could even be a way to expand your skills, or change your style. I find when I have bad art, I find ways to fix it by looking at other people’s art, and learn new things! That could just be me, but it never hurts to try.

Yes. Drawing is nice to the brain and you can draw your characters yourself. It always be time to ask other artist if it dont like you

decide for you, you just got to want to do it because you want to, nothing else

As someone who drew a lot, then stopped for several years, it was hard to get going again. There are also some unique challenges that may come up.

I admit, I lost A LOT of my skill during my time away. My hand lost some of its control with a pen and pencil, art programs changed, and I had to work to get back to where I was before, and re-familiarize myself with the tools I used to use.

As for the comic, I had a comic that I spent a good 5 years working on before I quit. I really wanted to get back on it, and continue the story that I had previously abandoned. Unfortunately, I had grown as a person/adult during my time away, and I could not continue the old comic because it became foreign to me. It was difficult when I finally made the choice to let the domain expire, because I realized that I had to move on.

Comics are time and energy investments, so if you decide that is what you want to do again, then have at it!

I have that same question to myself when I thought of this story that I want to work on and it looks better if it's comic, I kept over-thinking about it if i want it as a novel because my skill to draw is not that good or just do it as a comic.

At the end, I want to do it as a comic and my style might change/improve along the way and I can edit it whenever I can. so if you want to draw it or not, your work will still be amazing, maybe even better than mine.

Of course. First step's the hardest, though. It can get pretty intimidating cranking the machine back up again. My advice would be do an art trade or volunteer to draw someone's character...that way you have a set deadline and you have to draw whether you want to or not. Plus, you get plenty of practice and motivation that way, at least that what usually works for me after a long art hiatus.
