I really don't think longer episodes are better for a lot of reasons. Scrolling so much can be tiresome and sometimes looking at a tiny scroll bar thingee makes it feel more like a chore to read than a pleasure to do so. Sometimes I'll put off reading something if the episode is too long or I'll skip over some of it. Honestly, I did that with your first episode a bit, though I did end up subscribing since it's an interesting story and ohmygosh the girls you draw are incredibly sexy.
There is definitely a balance to be had. I'm able to update one page a week, which translates to just 4-6 panels usually. Probably about 3 pages per week is a better pace. It's a decent amount for readers and I don't think it's too much pressure to draw. I've been able to do it, though it is definitely a time commitment. So that averages about 12-18 panels per week.
For someone who isn't a pro and the comic is their only job, I think it's a good amount.
Non-pro artists just can't be expected to put out much more than this. If readers are going to complain, then that's on them. If they like the story, they will read. If they don't, then they won't.
