@mayday
Comrade! My team was once in a situation like yours. We had a story, and we had it released, but we've noticed a lot of mistakes. I, being the writer, also wanted to make sure I knew the direction of the story.
What I have learned from my experience is that on the LONG run, it's better to put your work on hold for a while. ESPECIALLY if you haven't released yet
On the long run, you will save more time if you put off your release to flesh out the story.
To answer your question about waiting for a less hectic time. Don't do that. Many creators wait for the right time to start on their work, but the right time doesn't come often. Spend time on it regularly, if even for just a little. It's a habit more than a task.
Regardless of what you do, I look forward to seeing your comic.
Good luck!
