I can't find my oldest drawing's, but there were so many changes. First of all, my mc Kura was a boy, had some huge as weapons I wish she still had but would be way too hard to draw consistently, and her hair was really short. My character Kumoto had two different colored eyes, a lot of scars, and barley any clothes but enough to cover up. I don't know what I was thinking, but the excuse I had was " her burn scars hurt too much to put full clothes on." I'm glad I changed that. As for my other characters, both Minnie and Mooey (since they have the same basic design) had much longer necks, were a lot smaller, didn't have glasses for eyes all the time, and wore a trench coat. As for my other characters, Charlie barley has any changes except maybe she shape of his eyes, and Purps and Fluffy didn't even exist before my comics.

I ditched the hat. I could not make it not look goofy.

Tried to get the oldest I could find, went for the safest option, Derek. (Also had my very very old penname lmaooo)

Got 2 "firsts", one unreleased newspaper-comedy style:

And first in actual released webcomic:

To now:

Here's the literal first drawing. It's so bad! I really struggled when I first started drawing digitally!

And, not exactly the last ones, but they're the best ones from the most current drawings I made. I haven't draw him without his mask in a VERY long time.
Maskless: Chapter 11
Most current: Chapter 16

This is a great difference isn't it?

Have a few doodles of him earlier than that, but these are the ones in the "official" comic.

Landon in the first episode! (November 2023)

And Landon in the recent episode! (June 2024)

I didn't think there would be a significant improvement in such a short time, but I like how he currently looks!
What do you think?

nyeeeeehehehe

Prisma Lights
Old (around 2007)
These girls were 10 years old just like me at the time. Lipstick and midriff outfits are a lil weird for 5th graders.

2010
Redesigned with new style and jackets minus make up. The paper was too large for a scanner so I had to take a photo instead

Current
Changes in hairstyles, personalities, and themes for some characters. They're around 12-14 instead of 10. Themes are more prominent in their outfits as opposed to everyone having hearts.

I think there was another similar post a day or so ago, so I won't show the full progression. Instead I'll dig even deeper into the archives for Carmen (me) from Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days:

This is the earliest drawing I have of Carmen (the one not talking). 4X4Play was a comic series that I did before WNHCD, and it was centered around automotive culture. This really happened. My friend Dale and I were trying to find a lake way back in the woods to go fishing in. He was driving his father's '72 K-5 Blazer and he was going a bit too fast for my liking (we were driving old 4x4 trails that we had never been on before and he was driving like he was on the highway). The words were barely out of my mouth for him to slow down when we came over a small knoll a little too hot and were suddenly in the lake. All I could think of was the 8 mile walk back out of the woods.

Thankfully we didn't have to walk. A couple of Jeepers happened by and pulled us out. Still, it took hours and ruined our fishing trip.

You can definitely see the influence The Simpsons had on my drawing style in the early 1990's. That laughing fish is Spencer, a character from my very first comic, Sam The Shark, which debuted in 1988.

The very last drawing that I did for WNHCD is this one of when I married my husband. I'm the tall one:

For Finding Daecon's Way this was actually my first drawing of Daecon, done on Christmas Day while I was visiting my sister. I hadn't truly nailed his look yet (his skin is darker than this) but still, I used it for the cover of Finding Daecon's Way:

And this is the most recent one, done just last Friday with his look locked in and showing my newer, rougher drawing style

Gosh, found another one lol (More like this post made me want to draw another one of my oc's lol)
Derek's little brother, Thomas.

This is Gabriel, Bobbie, and R.J. in a strip from over a year ago:

And this is them in the most recent strip:

I've had these characters for years but I don't have a lot of old art on hand  but I think my style has changed a bit
