I've seen a lot of self-deprecation and creators being discouraged by social media on the forums lately. As a creator myself, I understand the struggle of always striving for more. I like to say there should always be a balance between self-love and healthy criticism. You shouldn't hate your work but you shouldn't also think you're a god.

So can we have a positive thread? Show me art you've made that your proud of and talk about why! Some of mine are below. I'm pleased with them because they depict an imaginary place from my series in a passionate, colorful way.

I've got a few... It's surprising how old some of these are, though.

They're from all over the place-- some local park and botanical art, some stuff from tabletop and video games, some setting work from my own comic... I'm a sucker for clean lines, fully fleshed-out environments, and lush color. And I'm one of the few people I've ever met who do this kind of work with markers. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of marker artists out there. But I've never met another one whose style bore any resemblance to mine. I guess that means I'm unique? I hope that's a good thing...

Marker!? That's amazing! Lush color yes, you've got that down really well. I thought most of these were paint or digital! (I too, am a sucker for environments hehe.)

If I had a dollar for every person who was surprised my art is done in marker... well, I wouldn't be rich, but I'd have enough for a dinner at a nice restaurant by now.

It's nice to meet other people who don't view environments as 'backgrounds', like they're the flat backdrop they put behind kids during school pictures, though. And I can tell you're not shy with colors either.

Some of mine, because I stopped comics and focus more on how to properly art at the moment.

I used this one for my comic's cover, I spent a good amount of time on researching about clothes and fashion from old middle-east. It started as a quick sketch and then I had fun with all the jewelleries and embroideries. But I cheated for the background, it's just a tapestry pic I found on google

Primrose from the game Octopath traveler, I have been on hiatus from drawing for a long time and that was the first drawing I did seriously after that. Anatomy totally sucks but I was pleased with how the colors turned out.

That one is very old, I wasn't using construction lines to build anatomy at that time (and it shows), but I'm still fond of it because of the eerie feeling about it.

@Kirieslawa I can tell you spent some time and efforts on the ctlothings, historical clothes are sometime so hard to draw. Or they just look so ridiculous so it's a hard job to make them look good. You made a great job out of it, tho. Nice colors and atmospheres as well.

Thank you very much! The hardest thing is to understand how did they work, cause it was much different than todays clothes and it starts to be easier with this knowledge

The fact that i colored these id say makes me proud of myself and there's one that probably wont ever be colored but I'm still proud of it. Also grass I'm very happy about that grass

@BarBarKetrab I really love the amount of depth on that first one! And the cool colors and smooth coloring (particularly on the lake) perfectly radiate iciness.

@yumeryuu I adore b/w art that uses a splash of color! It's very stylish.

@Zin_Trollborn I admire the detail on your outfits and hair! Your research definitely paid off.

@Kirieslawa Your characters look like they could burst off my screen at me. I really love the dappled light effect on the last piece! Gives it an extra layer of dimension.
