i could use some positivity today and i truly love seeing peoples art so this thread is quite comforting for me. the imposter syndrome has been kicking my ass recently but all of this creativity is inspiring!! i'll post some of my faves because i feel awkward just snooping lol

This is an old piece that I did but it's also still one of my favorites because when I was struggling creating this, I kept redoing some parts and fixing a lot of things. I was close to giving this piece up lol but I kept telling myself to keep going and that I'm almost there.

I'm really glad I didn't give up though! And to trust the process, it's now a mantra when I think of giving up
Also because at least this kind of reminds me that I can do it and I will do it, if not now then one day.

The first piece was a little bit of luck. I had been working very hard on my art but I understood most of my portrait art was forgettable and gimmicky especially to the minimalist artists. I felt people genuinely saw value in the piece. I also started getting requests to take commissions and suggestions to participate in art shows. That kind of felt encouraging for me to keep trying to be the artist I used to be. Plus I was on the road to recovering from stuff and adapting to a new life so the encouraging feedback really awakened my sense of worth. If I learned anything, persistence really does pay off. Especially when you have every reason to give up.

The second piece was important because I put a lot of thought and a little self-identity into it. I feel like people really appreciated it which was nice because I was working really hard on digital medium, but I didn't have much to show for it. I felt stuck because I didn't have the energy to complete small pieces daily. I was worried that somehow my art would never feel attractive and maybe I should lower my ambitions. I learned that trying something scary but bringing what I learned to the table was something that made a difference and motivated others.

I would say the third one is the closest I've gotten since returning to making what is my actual art. Even compared to my university art I'd say one of my top 5 best drawings I can remember. I feel like working in this direction is the one way I can grow and share myself as an artist I feel like I understand it. It's the only artist I want to be, and I feel there's an actual need and maybe future for that. We'll see.

Some of these I did because I wanted to give my self a bit of a challenge by drawing backgrounds. I had initially set a goal of doing 100 but since I didn't give myself a deadline, I guess I can complete it one day
I now love drawing backgrounds so I guess the challenged helped!

@Gleamiarts Chill is what I wanted so yay! Backgrounds are really hard but I think you've done an amazing job so far. I'm all about sci-fi environments but whenever I see art like that first bedroom piece I'm just like !? the detail

@Berserker The amount of dedication and detail you put into your world always delights me. You work really hard and you can see that in each and every piece.

@maseba Your textures are so pretty! And your coloring and compositions are so fluid I can't tell if they're digital or traditional - amazing!

@mbindhammer B/w is always a winner imo! Very bold and cool looking.

@LCT_m_a_d You have a great sense of dynamism in your composition! I really dig that shoe piece. I could see it on a t-shirt!
