The water merges back to Xun. They eventually discover that their bodies are stuck in a sort of timeloop: to how they looked on April 5th when the creepy Hum started everything. Eg. If he change his shirt, lose a finger -> then turns into liquid - > then turns back, he will reappear with the shirt he wore on April 5th, and his finger will return just as he had it on April 5th. However, the are enemies who can find ways around this, including one who can break the function for others. So far Evan is the only one who isnt stuck in April 5th but is evolving overtime instead.

And true, Xun would be dangerous to Evan "pre-evolution" with the acid variant-liquid. Evan also learns to make acid bubbles and traps he's inspired by Solids and quasi-solid (jellies).
