Sketchtember / Inktober!

So i've never participated in an inktober before (for those unfamiliar, it's a challenge to draw with inks every day of october, but most people just use it as an ink drawing inspiration month), but i've been really enjoying a more ink-like set of photoshop brushes, and it's inspiring me to get involved! I've bought myself a good starter brush pen and want to try an even mix of digital and traditional drawings.

So thread time! A lot of folks make up their own theme for the month and draw according to the, and some do all their sketches in september to make the art flow easier in october. Are any of you preparing for this years inktober? What themes do you have in mind? Is this your first year doing the ink challenge or are you a veteran with past works to show?

Up until now I have participated sparingly as in made one dedicated ink piece in inktober. Once though I made a whole series of drawing for an exhibition, and I found the ink fitted it very well, and I so happened to start in Occtober, but that really wasn't planned, so I'm not sure that counts.

I don't have anything planed for this year, I'll be waiting for the official promt list to come out

Guess I did inktober early. Its not the best though. Lots of issues on this.

Hopefully this inktober will be a chance for me to improve my inking ability.

I partecipated before, and I'd say preparing your sketches in advance is the best move. I don't have the time nor the mindset this year, but I look forward to see what you're all going to produce! Good luck everyone

I make my own prompt list to work from, mainly because I noticed most prompt lists are very halloween themed, so i made one for myself which was nature inspired, decided to post it on my instagram and apparently a lot of other people liked it too. It was very last minute last year so this year I'm posting the list a head of time incase anyone wants to prepar first and make it more of a fun event.
I never managed to finish it though (or ink a significant amount) every october ends up being a very busy month for me and I used to use tools I didn't really like? This year I started using brush pens and watercolour more and I feel much better about inking so hopefully I'll manage better!

I keep wanting to take part in these, but because of the amount of updates I do for my comics I don't have the time... and well since it's daily releases I'm pretty much sketching and inking every day anyway ^^;;;

I would really like to try this year though since my update schedule has slow down due to me getting puppies. (currently only one comic is updating while the rest are on hiatus, with the one that is updating uploading at a 'whenever I can find the time' pace)

I think I could do it if I tried to free up at least a half hour a day for it. Would be good to work on something that wasn't a comic or a commission x.x

I only did 3 inktober drawings for instagram a few years ago, I plan on participating on inktober this year. I go with the official theme cos its interesting to see what other ideas people come up with on that same theme. I didn't know sketchtember was a thing too.

Def dont have the time for these events. I've given thought to Inktober, but the closest I may get to doing anything for October is doing a Halloween art piece in relation to my comic.

I've only done 2 sketches so far for Sketchtember. T__T;; I'm hoping to catch up soon haha.

But my theme is... drumroll Boku No Hero Academia! I love that series.

So far I have done Todoroki and Deku (of course) XD

I'm really terrible at keeping a sketchbook or consistently drawing so I never stick with Inktober for longer than the first day or two, I'd really love to push myself to do it this year though. I might stick to doing observational drawings because it's what I'm into right now and I want to improve on them

I love Inktober! ^^ Though I have yet to successfully do it every day haha. Last year I found a list of one word prompts like "Breeze," "Quiet," "Storm," etc. But this year I'm doing dark fairy tale themes with my friend and my sister, with a different story each week! I keep dried out pens and markers for texture, so Inktober is a great time to take a break and make art besides comics XD

I'd love to do stuff like this (and actually, I already did NaNoWriMo) but October is now a busy time of year... Lots of boring paper work to care of.

I did just buy 642 Things to Draw and I'm waiting for that to arrive. I'll just try to do one of those a day and that should keep me going for nearly two years.

I'm not doing anything focused for sketchtember (other than just trying to make something everyday). Soon I want to sketch a series of rough sketches to get ready for inkober.

For inktober I plan to expand on some similar themes I've been working on. Mystical/fantasy figures and some more constellation animals.
