So, anyone would want to make your own comic into movie or show?

I know, how humble. Since I was a child I was obsessed with movies and tv shows, mainly animated ones and I always thought: I want that too.So now when I am an adult, well my body says so, even though I feel like going back to kindergarten, I think I can make this come true. One day, when I make it big. I just love the thought of an animated movie or tv show, I always loved animation, mainly 2d one. Just imagine your story being there on the big screen or in TV just gorgeous. Would you want that too?

PS: Never sell your stuff to Disney, they will not only rob you of your comic, but also your soul

Yeahhhh like for a really long time ~highschool-early college, animation was actually one of the #1 things I was interested in pursuing as a possible career choice. Buuuut I didn't look very hard for a college that had an animation program so I wound up in architecture instead xD which in the long run is probably more stable, but I digress.

On topic, it would be super cool to see one of my series animated! Not any time soon, but I've definitely considered trying to make a super short animation as a promo or something (i dipped my toe in a few years back and made like a 10 frame blinking animation for a character once is the extent of my current practice but yeah! )

I'd actually would like for it to be a series of animated music videos, conveying the character and atmosphere. Dunno, sure I imagine an animated sequence when I draw, so sometimes i'll get multiple panels with a very slight change in the shot, but as a whole tv series on a movie? Not really.
But one of the stories I'm planning on would sure make a good series, being an adventure.

itd be cool, and i really do love film, but im a bit skeptical of people who make comics but really really want to make movies. like, there are definitely people who make comics with the goal of a movie adaptation, and that doesnt betray a love for comics - and i love comics!

itd be cool to see my stories adapted into any other art form, mainly bc whats changed or adapted would be interest me - but if i have a story that i really wanna see as a film, it either has to warp into a comic and be okay with that, or ill go an make a film (which i dont plan to do for a few years haha)

Pipe dream territory for me. Splitting Image IS based on western saturday morning cartoon after all, but animation is also extremely hard and you'd have to get pretty big to either make a kickstarter or get someone to buy the licensing rights. I'd love to see it adapted well and right, though!

edit: NOT live action though, animated. Ignoring all the CGI problems with it, for starters, whichever actor played Mortimer would stick out by default because they'd digitally add the eyes to be cool instead of, idk, using colored lenses.

I want my comic to be animated by Sunrise Studio. They did Gintama well, and my comic (the spin-off soon to come) would be amazing.

Yes, I always dreamed about someone animated my work. But gosh darn it, no one was gonna do it for free. So, I taught myself how to do it myself. Might I add, it was better for me.

Oh heck no. The main character has octopus arms. There is a small handful of animation companies that could handle having to animate something so complicated on a regular basis and I'm pretty sure those companies are too big to care about some webcomic even if it became big in the future.
There's a bunch of factors that are considered when green-lighting cartoons and one of them is, "how difficult would this be to produce?"... and my comic would probably fail that one.

We’re actually in the middle of making a pilot for one of my comics! Right now I have to look at voice actors. Also a week after I signed the contract to animate this pilot I was approached by a production company I really like for pitches so I’m trying to develop more pitches for animation as we speak

I am actually extremely excited though. TV show money would mean I’d have more time to draw comics.

I would love a show animation of my comic but don’t know if it will happen. I’ve talked to some movie producers (at art galleries I was in) and a few where interested in making a movie of my comic. Though a lot of this stuff is currently out of my budget and I honestly don’t think the story could be pulled off as a movie compared to a show with the slow burn pacing I got going on. I don’t know. Maybe I could find someone willing to animate eventually. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.

I second the "Aw heck no" sentiment. Adapting one of my stories to a live medium is not something I'd trust anyone to do correctly... not even me.

Always a dream BUT I feel like if it ever did happen I'd probably just go, "Oh that happened." -goes onto next project-

As I create more and more I'm feeling a certain detachment from the things I create. I've still got a few darlings though and I would only accept a medium as detail-oriented as I feel appropriate for the story.
Like I would love to see Erie Waters as a stop-motion animated movie, hovering between kid-friendly like Laika's creations and totally not-for-kids-as-it-would-bore-them like Anomalisa.

Yeah, I would love that, though I do believe comics still to be the best medium, I believe every different medium could offer something else to the story.

there's some stories of mine that i could see working as an animated series or short film but honestly I'm okay with comics for the time being. if any type of adaptation did come of my own work then cool i guess but it's not an end goal

i think if my aim was for something to be animated at some point i'd try to make it in a format with that in mind like storyboards or animatics

An animated show would be interesting but that would never happen and I am worried that some parts might come off much more disturbing. I would rather pitch something 100% new/fresh that had more room to be flexible with other writers and shift more kid friendly if needed.

HOWEVER, I someone wanted to make a cheesy live-action show/movie, I would be behind that. Even if it sucked, just seeing the effort of people trying to adapt it would be amusing.
