One goes on vacation for less that ONE WEEK and all the complains pop up! You thought you were safe from me, but hah! You never are!
We don't merge often. When we do, it is usually because they are pointed out by community members - if it seems to make sense to merge them or lock one of them to continue the conversation in one, then we will.
Yep. We are a very small team and aren't always available. We will usually react quickly when important matters arise, like bullying or rude behavior. Joke threads are not as high on the priority list.
To be honest, this thread should have been for novelists too, since it's a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously. Introducing rules to a joke thread is odd. That's more of a personal opinion and not a rule.
I reviewed both threads and merged them. Whoever posts first is not put into consideration when I decide which post gets to stay or not - this isn't a race. In that case I kept the one that had more work put into the OP post, and I had the choice between a few words vs a long list of artwork.
There are actually plenty of threads we would like to reduce, especially when it comes to self promotion. Sadly it isn't easy to decide where to make the cut, and as you can see above, there are plenty of examples of people being unhappy about promotion threads being closed or merged.
It is okay to voice an opinion when there are potential issues that could be resolved. It would be a huge issue if no feedback was ever provided. Free thinkers are important.
There are times when things get out of hand where we have to remind ourselves what this forum is. It is, very specifically, a forum for webcomics and novels on the Tapas platform.
As you can see, many other topics have been allowed here. There are plenty of discussions about other platforms, social issues, as well as silly jokes.
But I still have to remind you: This is a comic forum and sometimes we may decide to enforce this.
Yep, they sure would get mad and there is a good chance that they send you a salty message.
If you want quality novel threads, post quality novel threads. Copying other threads that are already unoriginal (not trying to throw shade, but can't avoid it to make a point) doesn't lead to a fun entertaining thread with lots of interaction.
Since you all are here because of your crazy imagination, I'm certain you guys will come up with great topics that we haven't seen millions of times before.
In other words, this is your forum, it's on you to make it as awesome as you want it to be. Mods are just there to provide you with a safe environment.
If you see a lot of them, that's probably why.
Oh would you look at that, maybe we're not a joke police after all! ;D
Feel free to continue to provide us with feedback regarding the closure and merging of threads.
I, on the other hand, want to ask you to challenge yourself to use your skills and create unique, interesting topics. If a topic already exists, it may be a good idea to see if you are able to put your own spin on it. We are all creatives and we should show that.
