So, I deleted my 5k subs comic and started all over again

Am I crazy? Maybe.

The thing is, I was in a state of mind where I started do despise a work that I really loved. During the progress of this comic, I learned a lot about comics, storyboarding, art in general, writing, etc...
I don't know if it was the best decision, but now I have the chance to put my work in a new light. Change and add new episodes, create a somehow stable art style.

And with all of that, I'm actually happy...happier with this work and 100% recharged to keep it ultil the end.

So, I'm not sure if this can be useful for someone, but don't feel traped by the numbers. My comic now have around 300 subs and I think its 1000% better than my 5k version.

Its scary. I was really feeling bad of just dropping the whole thing instead of just remaking the episodes. But a lot of people won't read them and get lost with the new ones.

I get the feeling of having to delete. My comic Full Moon King (FMK) was just starting out, but the artist randomly ghosted me. I had to delete all the original artwork and try to find a new artist. About a year later I am slowly releasing the new stuff. I have to say I am much happier. Due to funds I was not able to be consistent or keep it in color with the last artist. The new artist I have gotten exactly what I want at a good price and it has allowed me to release more consistently. It's scary to start over, but sometimes it's for the best. I am now on Tapas, Webtoon, and Pop Comics.

I've been feeling the same way as of late. I'm currently working on the next chapter of my comic, but my heart is just not into that version anymore, making it harder to finish. I kinda felt guilty about starting over since I have collectively 200 subs, until I saw what you said about being trapped by numbers.

Also, did you already have your new version created before you deleted your comic? Or did you work on it after you deleted it?

I already quit making comics, so i can't say much, but a benefit of doing this is that now you will be more certain what subs are "active" (the important number) compare to the total number that also includes old inactive/dead subs.
