So.... I want to read new comics

They got rid of the Fresh bar and even the ability to look at Trending through Genres... Anyone like... have any tips on how to stumble across new comics besides blindly looking through tags or refreshing the tending page every hour? I'm honestly at a complete lost.

Click comics, and they have sections for trending and fresh, and also the different genres too

Other than that, if you're having trouble finding new stuff you could always look through the Tapas tag on the Webcomic Library Tagpacker page. There are 627 comics in that catagory and you can sort through them by genre, age rating, page count, etc. You're bound to find something new.

I guess I was just expecting the trending bar to take me to the same place it took me in the old site where you can sort through both genre and popular/fresh.

It just takes to to a completely separate page that isn’t even connected to the page that the comics tap takes you. Me and my friends must have been so trained by tapas old system that we never use the comic bar and just- didn’t think to try it cause none of us found it after I pointed out the fresh bar was missing XD. Not sure if that says more about us or the old/new UI

I totally get now why people keep saying they’re “lost” I thought they where being silly but I guess everything’s just moved slightly to the right and now no one can find anything x3.

Yeah, the site has all these weird little quirks now despite still running the same, I usually went through the Fresh link at the bottom before the change happened. It sucks they don't have a direct link from the front page now, but at least they didn't get rid of the tab entirely, that would have been a pain in the ass. I feel you on the confusion though, every time I've tried to binge read something today I keep trying to scroll down to the next page, only to be met with a road block. You think I would be used to actually clicking to read the next page since Tapas is literally the only site that has infinite scroll, but nope! The fact that the Previous and Next buttons aren't centered and aligned with the comic doesn't help either.

Admittedly I haven't looked at the Fresh tab for a year or so since I end up finding most new comics through Twitter, the Support Webcomics Discord server... or other webcomic related servers. I probably should get back into it sometime since that was how I found some really good comics that don't get advertised anywhere!

I second the Webcomic Library! Also, if you guys have comics, I recommend sending/updating yours there with icons and banners because the creator is having trouble updating the whole thing because of Tapas' lack of announcement. It's an amazing resource and has tags for content warnings and even the types of LGBT+ content already ready to filter.

Urg you reminds me that I probably should update mine since it was put up ages ago, the content warnings are probably especially out of date.

Speaking of, LGBT Webcomics also has a Tapas tab on their tagpacker page. If anyone wants to look specifically for LGBT Tapas comics.

I kinda liked the old design too, it was much easier for me just look up designs of my previous characters by scrolling through the chapters when i didn't know exactly what chapter i introduced the character. Not really what you asked for, but anyway now it's TIME TO ADVERTISE MY COMIC.
