Thanks! This graphic is helpful =)

I'm already drowning in Social Media, so I don't need another site right now. This is helpful as a reference.

Ooo... this is awesome, thanks. I can think of loads of people to share it with.

For Diaspora and Mastodon, try to talk about other things besides your work, and keep tabs on the local lingo. Much of these users are fleeing Facebook and Twitter because they're tired of censorship, so posting writing tips and stuff isn't going to get you fans.

Drawbacks to consider: Diaspora and Mastodon, while both Libertarian in concept, tend to be opposites of each other. GNU Social is a bit more balanced. Diaspora lends more toward the political right, though occasionally Far Left like myself. Mastodon is the opposite.

And not addressing issues with surveillance and privacy issues, and trashing people that talk politics isn't going to win you any fans over there either.

also I'm not familiar with those I'm assuming they are more social media sites ? are they newer?

Diaspora is older and hesitant to recommend. A lot of blatant ... well you know. Mastodon is great though. It's like Twitter without the crazies. And one can start up and host their own instance as well, just lot a lot of the other decentralized social-verse.

Socialhub (or whatever it's called) doesn't have a block function. Which means this one guy can basically make fun of me for not understanding certain books with impunity.

I actually prefer OpenSSH personally, as you can do this IRC like chat in the terminal. (So not stupid meme pictures.) I belong to a friend's team at the moment. (A team of programmers, artists, writers, and so on.)

Stupid question here! Does tumblr count as social media? I have one but I've noticed that there isn't a lot of transfer from it to other sites. I've also found that pinterest is a really great social media site to use if you have your own website/blog. I get most of my hits from pinterest.

Yep Tumblr counts as social media. I'm sure there is a way to use It effectively personally I see nothing but drama from tumblr but I also don't frequent it. But hashtags are powerful and since Tumblr uses then I'm sure can be used to get you exposure

Tumblr seems to have a very simplified black vs. white (with no shades of grey) view of real world events at times at best, misleading, or even outright deceptive about LGBT stuff.

I don't understand how my ex room mate can stand it.

Yet even then, at least Tumblr doesn't try to shove Stephen Universe down my throat. It's not a bad show, but I have the right to my own taste.

I love this! Especially since I literally have a sheet in front of me where I'm trying to graph which sites I need to update which days. This came at the exact right time, thank you so so much!!!! <3

Only creating your brand page/account over different social media platforms is not enough. As you should also apply some Social media marketing tips to achieve number of goals like

  • Boosting website traffic.
  • Establishing conversions.
  • Raising brand awareness.

OR you can go with any automatic social media manager tools.
