I'm planning to do a Texas x Chili style swap and if you all try something similar with your characters I'd love to see it.

Basically a style swap (as opposed to a clothes swap) means that you draw your characters dressed in whatever clothes they would wear if they dressed in a different OCs fashion statement. That does not mean they have the exact same wardrobe as the other OC. Since these characters, most likely, have different personalities, they'll still lean into different parts of the aesthetic and different preferences will shine through. For instance, Texas has lots of tattoos which she loves to show off, so even if she switched to Chili's bolder, more modern fashion statement (as opposed to her softer boho hippie style) she'd still be picking pieces to frame her tats.

Which of your characters do you think are most likely to like wearing each other's styles and who would HATE it?

I'll update this post when I've finished my style swap

I knew I had to do this challenge with these two because their styles are so wildly different. You can tell pretty easily who hates it. I’m not sure if I did it correctly for Felix because he would hate every part of wearing Axel’s style, so I basically just gave him a gender swapped version of her outfit.

Canonically, Axel could use her magic wand to make this happen. I might do Ian and Mev next. I think style swapping them would be fun too.

I'd love to see and Ian and Mev swap.

For Corrine, wearing a military style uniform would be more akin to wearing a costume, while Alex doesn’t mind wearing women's clothes if it made sense for the situation, but would still conceal carry a pistol in shoulder holster.

On a side note, Corrine has no trigger discipline since she never had firearms training.

Hmm;
I did a quick little doodle of such. Dude looks more like a vampire in her style than she did-- and shes the actual vampire :sweat:

Mev’s style is kinda just random stuff she steals and rips the sleeves off of and she usually doesn’t wear shoes. She also likes purple. Her only big no is long dresses.
I went with Ian’s actual style, rather than his “disguise” outfit.

Had to do that one in October for an art prompt challenge so I had Cassian and Elias switch clothes and they were not happy about it :sweat_02:

Thank you for doing this. This helped me feel better today drawing this!

I understand Alex's terror

for some reason Ian gives me martial artist vibes when wearing Mev's clothes

@vapidink

why? were the clothes sweaty? they look disgusted

My WIP for Chili and Texas in each other's styles lol

Oh yeah, he does now that you mention it. I think the fact that he has fairly strong arms helps, but those arms are for carrying massive books not throwing punches.

That’s because Ernest is a mad scientist! :upside_down:

Kinda.

I mean this man built his own prosthetic leg after he lost it, built an underwater lab, created a safety suit and cool looking tripod shaped submarines.

that doesn't sound mad though. just sciencist

They kinda hate each other, lol. They're just stuck traveling together because of a shared goal, but yeah, I'd say they're frenemies at the moment.

Wait this is such a fun idea??! I wanna try! I’m gonna make something for this tomorrow, I loved seeing everyone’s outfit swaps. :sparkles:

I wasn’t going to do another drawing for this thread because I felt that if I did the same thing for Rose and Nives, I’d have a similar result to my first sketch but then I remembered Rose is actually Canadian and Nives is in a different income bracket from Rose. So I did another sketch because I knew I was going to reuse the designs at a later point.

Rose is in her old body and her Canadian Army Cadet uniform, and Nives is in her civilian clothing:

oh Rose was in the army back in Canada?

No, Rose never was in the army, she considered it, to follow in the footsteps of her father, but in the end chose not to do so. She was in the Cadets during high school. Which is more like if the scouts were financed and organised by the army, to prepare children for a career in the military. You're not obligated to join the army after partaking in the cadets. I knew plenty of people who joined the air cadets to get basically free flying lessons. I think they might also offer a pretty decent music program.

note: this is also me confirming one of the true statements from the 2 truths, 1 lie thread.
