Sport genre in Tapastic

I was recently watching Hajime no Ippo and I am enjoying it so far.
However, I'm curious, has anybody tried a sport genre?

I know there are a few sports-comics here on Tapastic, though I don't read any of them myself - but if you're into professionally published manga, may I recommend Eyeshield 21 and Yowamushi Pedal?

They're both really, really good (And YowaPeda is, er, completely bonkers), and I may or may not have read the first 100 chapters of YowaPeda in a single day because oh my god.

... Whatever you do, do NOT watch the Eyeshield 21-anime. It does not do justice to the absolutely wonderful thing that is the manga.

I honestly love the sport genre! But not so much the newer animes, I'm more into the older stuff (aside from pedal)
I'm currently watching Hajime no Ippo, I really recommend Slam dunk (both anime and manga are great), Yowamushi pedal which I didn't expect to like but it's really good, Rookies which is somewhat underground it's about delinquents playing baseball, it's amazing and honestly one of my favorite mangas of all time Eyeshield 21 ONLY THE MANGA THOUGH!

Man, it sucks having to say this whenever I recommend Eyeshield 21 to anybody XDD but yeah the anime really messed up the art and so many parts of the plot too. Here's hoping for a remake one day.

I enjoy reading sports comics, but not writing them. You need a high level of technical knowledge about the sport in question to pull it off without alienating fans, and I've just never been really into any sport beyond casual interest.

I love it, watched Kuroko's Basketball recently, and now planning to read manga.
I think it's pretty hard to draw sport genre manga, you have to be a real fan of a certain sport, and a really good artist because you'll have to draw a lot of dynamic poses.

If motorsport is under sports genre, then i'm one of the few trying it with U-Speed.
I've watched several racing animes like initial-D (with all the drifting) and Capeta(kart racing) and loved it both (well except for the later stages of initial D where he was winning because of questionable events.XD).

The thing that I am curious about is that: Has anybody on Tapastic tried to make a sport genre?
I understand the difficulty of inputting all of the technical terms from sports and it requires grand drawings to show muscle fibers and such.

I would enjoy making it; however, I am too busy thinking of my current series (progressing rather slow due to my jobs).
I might try giving either Boxing or MMA a try once Legend ends its first season.

Hey guys!
Back to the topic.

I was thinking of doing a sport series later, and I am on concept stage.

I had an idea for boxing, but I also like MMA.

I think they both would end up being a completely different series.
The Boxing story is about two brothers becoming pros and rivaling each other.
The MMA would be about the intimidating giant anti-social character, who's really just a clumsy goof with a heart.

Thoughts? Boxing or MMA?

It is Rugby, so not quite sure if you will like it - but it is also set in the far future with mutants and monsters - so, there is that

I looked up which martial arts are included in the Olympics, which is when I found that Taekwondo is included, so I decided to base my comic Strike Pup around that...and fashion.

I'm currently developing a sports related or borderline MMA comic sometime before the year is out. I'm currently making the pages but I want to give myself a rather outrageous buffer before I started to upload. I having really seen many sports comics here on tapastic but I'm sure that they're here somewhere.
