Thought it might be fun to see everyone's sketches for St Paddies. Everyone who does art in some fashion is welcome: pen, pencil, watercolor, AI, spray paint, etc. Let's support each other's passions.

I still need to get some help touching up a couple things but I think it came out practically perfect

I love Saint Patrick's Day. It's a fun holiday and it's so happy. Here's mine which displays something different but worth checking in Irish mythology: A merrow which is the Irish take on a mermaid (they are said to be beautiful yet modest), a kelpie (which is a water elemental who can take on the form of a man or a horse), and a Failinis which is an ethereal and invincible hound.

Maybe it's for the best if you don't include AI. The program doesn't seem to know what a shamrock is.

@MiharuWrites To be honest, this feels like AI art, especially since one of the earrings is misplaced and the eyes are a bit weird. Did you draw this?

I was just trying to be welcoming. It's a comic art forum. I wanted people to know their works didn't have to be digital or done in a traditional pen & ink to post it.

I made it on my nightcafe account. My mom and I collaborate sometimes. I give her a template to work from and she touches things up and changes things around.

So, yes it is AI. NightCafe is an art generator. Why not just say that?

And I hope you understand why us as artists don't appreciate Ai art generation. I'll tell you right now, your traditional sketches are welcome. What you posted at the top of this thread, for the most part, is not.

Uhh.. I assumed if anyone was interested they could just look up nightcafe? And I created this particular art thread so how is my own stuff not welcome? I said it was a template and my original post says I intend to get things touched up. It's not a finished piece. What's the problem?

It's not "your own stuff." It's a generated image based on a prompt that was "touched up" by someone else. It is especially not your own stuff to a hilarious degree.

And I didn't mean in this thread. I mean AI 'art' is generally unwelcome on this platform and by its users.

Not gonna comment on the ethics of A.I., but I will point out that A.I. is not allowed on Tapas specifically.

Calm down , I'm not saying anyone needs to be deplatformed. And I am more than encouraging of innovative ways to make art. But this isn't innovation. It's an ethical gray area where other artists work are, at worst, being stolen from without proper credit or compensation. That's why many artists have a problem with it. That's why I have a problem with it. So blow this out of proportion if you want, I'm just trying to explain to them why people on this platform may have and will voice their problems with it.

I've read this section of the rules before. I'm not sure why people are so upset though. This is the public forum platform, not my official stuff. I just wanted to share and see other people's art for St Paddies.
