I would just stick with it. It takes a while to gain a web presence and those webcomics @shazzbaa listed have been around for a few years plus. Absolutely advertise your work first in as many places as you can (facebook, tumblr, deviantart, instragram, whatever you're on). Be patient and you'll find your audience.
Not sure about what you mean by your subs dropping, like people unsubscribed to it and stopped reading all together because you were offering extras for supporters? Or it could just be something in your story that turned people off, I don't know since I don't have access to your stats and such.
As for my own Patreon, I think most people just want to support me and my work, they're not in it for the extras.
