I'm currently in the process of including Japanese culture, names, and locations in a comic I'm brewing up so.. take my advice how you will~
I just wanna start off by saying, Google's not a bad source tbh and neither is Wikipedia (I hear they're super strict in fact-checking stuff after every edit made so..) Honestly, it mostly depends on what you do with the information you're able to find. Don't just find one site and assume that's it, check other sites too and see how much of the info is the same. Also, don't trust Japanese media to be extremely authentic either, a lot of it's uhhh.. not quite realistic. Even in the most boring, mundane stories you can find. Something's always exaggerated to some extent, so yeah
Anyways, you're in luck when it comes to names! You can literally look 'em up and find different kanji characters and meanings behind 'em. Ichigo for example can literally mean either strawberry or first guardian based on the kanji so if you plan on explaining the name or using it as foredhadowing or something.. definitely do your research there lol if these names aren't good enough or you'd rather be original, the building blocks of the names are simple enough to where you can easily just make your own names based off of kanji. I have that in the form of Kurogane (é»’é‹Ľ) which was made by putting together black (é»’) and iron/steel (é‹Ľ).
As for the culture, there's a lot of deep diving you'll have to do. A lot of it. Even basic human interaction alone is different over there compared to here in the US, so I personally had to look up a bit on my own. I'd say that this a good place to start for a really grand general view of Japan's people and culture, as well as other aspects like the origins of the language and the economy.. this is just very informative on a variety of topics.

This all depends on how authentic you plan on being of course, but there's no harm in taking the time to research. Even for the little things you might wonder about! You might find yourself looking up a lot of stuff that won't be super beneficial or even necessary for your story, but all of it helps you build a better understanding of the place and culture~
