@insomniascrawl
Yeah I totally agree, I have to build my characters even more, to make sure they can be an interesting stranger for the readers XD
@TAMAnnoying
yup.. the good ol' show don't tell tricks though I have to admit, i work with motion pictures a whole lot more and it's kinda tricky now in comic, there's no motion, and I have to make sure that I don't overload with too much unnecessary details to do the "show" part hahaha.. thanks for the tip to not to overload people with the "tell".. gotta keep that in mind :3
@joannekwan
yeah it's fun to see how characters interact with each other, as long as you don't lose track of who's who XD
@tsukin
Wow! Thank you for the detailed comment!
it's always good to see people's process on how they go about making their characters and fit the story into it. Your idea of "I am we" sounds so interesting! I like stories that makes people think and feel like they're part of the world XD
Hahaha yeah I guess 1 interesting character is very silly, and neglected all others and I will also now call it as "developed" rather than "interesting" due to the subjectivity as you said :3
Most of those points you point out, really went past right through my brain, and right into the bin. I will now have to dig through my brain's recycle bin and get back all those questions, and make my life simpler for once by developing solid foundations for all my characters.
Your inputs definitely useful!
Thanks for the input! <3
@vincentprendick
Movies with subtitles ehh.. Now that's interesting XD I always thought that having the subtitles on will distract me from actually seeing what's going on and who's talking But I will definitely give it a try now
@keii4ii
Yeah i guess I need to re-sculpt my story again after reading all these inputs, before I actually throwing it out there for critiques and comments but I totally agree, collective critiques will help defining the storyline. Though 1 more question if I may, how much or how little do people usually tell about the story to get critiques? I think I did something like this in the past, and silly me for not realizing the info I put out actually ruin the climax of the story TT^TT
@AnnaLandin
you have to lend me your power of being able to develop story from everything! just for 1 day, I promise! XD
I totally agree with comic being a visual medium, and it still has to be somewhat appealing and help to tell the story. Good visuals being an attention grabber is definitely what I thought at the start, maybe if I work hard on the visuals, it'll at least grab people's attention to my comic, but I forgot that something that is so instant may not always last as long, in this case because it doesn't have a good story to keep people interested.
Thank you for the reminder and your inputs! <3
