sub 4 sub reminds me of my early Etsy days, where, in order to beat the algorithm you would join a "team" that would just click on each other's new listings and like them in order to "boost" it up the search engine. Thing is, that was Etsy in like 2010--and it hardly even worked for Etsy because they were totally on to us. For Tapas, I can't imagine that sub4sub would be at all beneficial, since even if you were trying to get enough subs for ad revenue, it only turns into dollars if the subs look at your udpates every update. An empty sub will never actually look at their subs again, and will never give you revenue. They will never leave you likes and comments--and the weight of likes and comments are what pushes you up into trending, not sub numbers.
With the way that the search engine seems to work on tapas, most of the front page promoted content was hand selected anyway, and of the top tier in trending you only see...so many. So there just isn't a reason to try and do sub 4 sub to get there. It is a waste of time and a leftover from how the web worked like 10+ years ago. You really have to push social media because this website won't do it for you.
Anyone that does sub 4 sub directly to me (which happened the very first day I signed up on this website and posted a comic) gets ignored. I always assume it's a robot account. Mostly because my Dad teaches electrical Engineering and one of his projects teaches kids how to write a script so they can make a youtube video and then give it thousands of likes and subscriptions via a code that makes puppet accounts with seemingly different IP's. It's VERY easy to get big numbers. But, as he points out with this assignment, not only are the major companies aware of this tactic, they make it so even with these numbers you can't get paid and you can't get promoted. Sub 4 sub is just this on a smaller scale. It's even less effective than making puppet accounts follow you.
I am just so tired of seeing Sub 4 sub in 2019 and I'm honestly surprised that this forum allows it.
