Not to be shady but I remember seeing you on a sub4sub thread the other day so I wasnât sure if you were for it or against it, @GarzaGoose And I get your point, but maybe calling people cringe, needy or begging could come across as a bit harsh too.
Honestly I donât really think sub4sub is harming anyone. People donât exactly get much out of it, maybe a few cents at most, and itâs usually just a small group of beginners. Itâs not something sustainable in the long run, but I donât see it as something that hurts anyone either.
For me it has actually been helpful. Like @susutaru said, itâs a way to meet new people and discover new stories. I leaned on it because starting out is really hard. New novels donât get promoted anywhere and when I first tried posting normally I got ignored XD. Then I saw others doing sub4sub, gave it a try, and finally got noticed.
I do understand it can be annoying to see so many sub4sub posts, but maybe instead of hating on it the solution could be to regulate how often people can post them. I donât know, that might make it less overwhelming.
Itâs just a way to get started. A story with some subs and likes looks more appealing than one sitting at zero. Thatâs how I see it. But idk, Iâm open to anyoneâs opinion.
