Have a supervisor who undermines most of her coworkers, talks smack about them behind their backs, tries to get her coworkers in trouble and has made more than one person quit after having to work with her.
She's in her late 30's and also has a family. She works a separate shift so im lucky I only have to interact with her a little.
She tends to be very passive aggressive and likes to loudly berate coworkers over simple mistakes or things she doesn't like. She's done this to almost anyone under her age. She like to pull "I'm your supervisor so you must immediately respect me, so just say yes and never talk back to me" She likes to think she can handle everything and that all the younger coworkers are incompetent.
Almost everyone is stressed out working with her. Thing is, she is one of the most senior members there so not many people are confident bringing the issue to the managers.
I work afternoons, she works mornings. About 2 weeks ago the switched supervisors for about half a week. Just to see how they could handle the opposite shift.
Well it goes terrible. I never made a mistake that shift but she tried her best to find something to complain about. We were understaffed, I was trying my best to make sure we got all chores done, but by the end of the shift, the store was like a disaster.
All my coworkers were pissed. It was extremely frustrating because she yelled at a new worker in front of customers several times, even though what the supervisor was yelling at her for she didn't even do. It was so inappropriate, mean, spiteful and definitely unprofessional.
I could go on but literally the amount of times she has done this it's too many.
Now im usually non confrontational, and i don't like bringing management into the issue if i can talk to the person im having problems with, but this supervisor never let me talk to her and always shut me down, so this got my blood boiling.
I don't think I've ever been so emotional but I ended up talking to management.
I brought up all the treatment me and my coworkers had been given and because this incident was so recent they can even check the timeline to see what I'm saying is the truth.
The management actually took it pretty seriously (apparently another coworker privately reported a similar incident) and are now looking into the issue.
I've felt like the biggest weight has been lifted from my chest since.
Seriously though, coworker, supervisor doesn't matter who. You should be treated right. Petty workplace bullying is not acceptable! Especially from a grown adult!!
