.....I am not taking pics of my dirty house. I refuse.

Anyway, laying out the books isn't until later. And 1 quilt. As part of the stretch juneself challenge we started.

It depends if my ideas get approved or not. They know to expect weird requests from me. Like last year I texted my Director of Instruction with the text ".... sooo am I allowed to teach kids how to cure and smoke bacon?"

I is the weird teacher.

I know the feeling. I'm already broke and I can't do much that costs money this summer and it can so easily kill the summer mood. Especially if others are enjoying the summer to the max. (Like my family who is going on a holiday trip without me... During my birthday.) But! No matter what I've decided to not stress. There is still joy in the little things like nature, and summer nights where the sun doesn't go down, and the music that fills the air in the evenings and many others!

And ice cream, of course!

OF COURSE. I think if I didnt have ice cream, I'd really hate summer...lol

Yeah... I struggle with that on commissions too.
I rarely take them for that reason actually.
Glancing at your comic though, you're really good! o_o
Maybe a case of you being your own worst critic? It's hard though. D; You have all my respect.

@Rodimus13: Not your house! Show us the cool things you're making, when you do. I guess I'll have to check out the Juneself thread. :B
And like I wish so hard my teachers had taught me how to cure and smoke bacon. Oh my gosh. :astonished: :green_heart:

Probably. I know I'm extremely hard on myself...but then again, there are others that nail commissions; I would love to be a "nailer"

I wouldn't worry about it. I know tons of commission artists, and 999 times out of 1000 the customers love the finished product, even if the artists themselves are unsure about how it came out. If someone comes to you, hands you money, and asks you to draw something for them, you can reasonably assume that they have faith in your abilities, and whatever you end up doing will please them. The demanding, bratty customers are rarer than you'd think.

If you still have concerns, though, you can always instate policies for 'fixing' artwork that the customer is unhappy with, and/or having them choose the style they want you to use from the get-go, so you have a better idea of what they expect.

To be fair.... I'm teaching a class that goes to the culinary track at my middle school so I try to step up my game for that class.

And here I freaked out found out a fav tiktok person is taking fan mail and somehow it turned into me making this for her INSTEAD OF CLEANING

.... this is why stuff doesn't get done. I get distracted.

In Switzerland. The south and eastern part of the country are mountainous areas, and especially in Kanton ('state') Graubünden you can find many castle and fort ruins overlooking the valleys.
These past months I've been visiting as many Roman ruins I could find. Most are historical sites, but some of them are in use, like the amphitheater in Avenches that is used for music events. Cool places :3

Hmmmmm I don't have much that's summer specific but my current goal list for the coming months in general:

  • Finish up my comic so I can take a break :joy:
  • Get back into a gym routine
  • Finally move out of my parent's place (been staying with them the last few years after college while working and saving money. Sooooo ready to move tho lmao)
  • Go to as many concerts as possible/feasible @u@ I went to a show almost every weekend last summer, hoping to keep the pace!

Sooo yeah these things! Plus whatever other surprises the summer holds~

Looks like everyone's doing some really cool stuff!
Mine's pretty simple I think, but it's also kind of interesting how much you can tell about people based on their to-do lists!

  1. Build a log of chapters for my novels for July and August!
  2. Learn how to play my sister's favourite song on the guitar! (Officially Missing You by Tamia)
  3. Get my driver's license (test coming up next week!)
  4. Relearn my high school math from years back so I don't feel silly about it when people ask me for help! (I'm all the way back at pre-algebra lol...guess who didn't specialize in numbers)
  5. Get more active again so I can do 14k steps a day like I did last summer!
  6. Improve my Cantonese so I can communicate with the relatives when my family's visiting.
  7. Prepare and pack everything I'm going to need to move to another province in two months!
  8. Get birthday gifts for my friends before I leave!
  9. Drawing again. Learning a new digital colouring style, or figuring out how to use watercolour or gouache better.
  • GET A JOB.
  • get my drivers permit. Maybe.
  • college apps yay
  • learn how to actually paint traditionally
  • cry maybe
  • not get boba tea every week
  • work on my portfolio
  • sleep just kidding
  • work on comic!

On that note, your sewing machine looks lovely! My first one is covered in sharpie notes saying what each thing does so I didn't have to keep referring to my manual lol

I kind of...started... on my list but I don't know how much I want to ... tackle of it honestly.

  • spend 1 day a week, or a month if appointments are too crazy, in the library
  • write 10k words
  • start a short story and finish it
  • hit ch94 of ntn. with a stick. just. WHACK. (i actually mean write up to that point and finish it)

Part of my problem is I was toying with the idea of doing the short story with bits that were drawn concept comic...ish bits? But like 99% of it would be written? I don't have the savage courage to do a comic when I don't have that kind of discipline and patience to draw everything out like chairs and settings, and and and like, the character 20 million times. I can get all of that done faster via writing (that's why none of my stories are comics lolz)

Awh, I don't really get summers since I'm Vincent Adultman, but I really want to get back on my bike! My one goal is to get in a kayak at least once lol. It sounds easy and mundane but I really don't like getting in the water.

  • My first priority is to put myself together since I abandoned my health so much during college that now I have several health issues.
  • Finish my studies and never look back.
  • Visit my mother and stay there for a month. Also, I want to live in that swimming pool they have.
  • Make a portfolio and maybe look up some job opportunities. Though I'm not planning to work before the summer ends.
  • On that note, I'd like to boost up my skills so maybe I can have a chance to get a job in art.
  • Finish a short comic and at least put together the characters for a second one.

Regarding the One Punch Mash Challenge, what you see there is Level 10.

Level 1: 10 sit-ups, 10 push-ups, 10 squats, 1 km ran

Level 10: 100 sit-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 squats, 10 km ran in a single day.

I've managed to do everything except the run. I'm currently at something like Level 4 because of that.

Oof, let's see...
1 survive the heat
2 publish Over a Coffee and make sure all the artists get paid
3 publish A Flying Töskr the novel
4 kickstart A Flying Töskr the comic
5 survive a festival despite social anxiety
6 dance with my rats everyday (and the cat) without too many scratches
7 kickstart Flying Words
8 start my publishing company for real
9 survive the summer

@Rodimus13: I love it! Your "getting distracted" is still getting awesome stuff done.

@Azifri: Oh, that sounds beautiful! Switzerland is just on my life bucket list- there are so many beautiful areas I have to see!

@Rhonder: It can be hard making that step to move out, and moving is always such a pain anyway. It'll be so worth it though! Good luck finding a good place!

@dawgofdawgness

...That's actually a terrible goal.
Do it for those of us who have NO BOBA within reasonable driving distance. D:<
DO IT

@zaboem: Okay, thanks for clarifying!
Geeze, you people made of solid rock
...I can actually do all of the level 10 ones except for the pushups right now though. My arm strength is the worst. Good luck finishing that 10k!

It's arrived at the tiktoker's PO box, so now I'm freaking out because I don't know how she will take it >.< I'll let you know later.

afjewhfiauegfioarhguiargiurhg

She loved it soo much and put it on a special spot on her shelf with her other plushies! And was mad she missed the video of it being made and stuff

Summer's already started for me (University timeline) so I'm gonna split this into cool things I have done, and cool things I wanna do this summer:

Cool things I have done:
- Started applying to labs for my master's degree
- Got a LOT of boba tea with friends (its the only way we'll work on said grad applications)
- Finished the first chapter of my comic!! Though its not all posted online yet
- Tabled at an anime convention (and did pretty decent if you ask me :P)
- Currently, watching a farm for someone while they're away (chickens, turkeys, and ducks!! So cute ^_^)

Cool things I wanna do:
- Decide on and fully apply to a grad lab
- Finish chapter 2 of my comic
- Start scripting chapters 3 and 4
- Try watercolours for the first time
- Join artfight and finish all those attacks I didn't get to last year
- Finish katamari damacy
- Sleep, a LOT of sleep
