The sword had barely moved, but it was moving. Gen squatted, put his hands under the sword's cross-guard and attempted to lift it that way.

"So that means the man is still out there..." Erras kept glancing from Genii to the forest and back again.

"Oh, stop worrying Erras... Alpha-7 just said... they chased... him off..." Gen huffed as he pulled. If Alpha-7 weren't worried, then Gen wasn't either.

For a brief moment Bellah looked startled, still on edge about being discovered by Kaeru. She took a calming breath before scowling down at whoever had just barged into her.

"Ta veikaa (You clumsy)...." the Aamami was about to give this stranger a piece of her mind, but stopped once she noticed the peculiar mask. She glared at them a moment longer before offering her hand to help them up.

Marcus: "It's true. The bad guys are always out there. Unfortunately...they never go away."
Pholaron: "14-5-22-5-18 7-15 1-23-1-25."

He said acting melodramatic.

Lucretia: "On the plus side, it looks like Gen's making some headway with that sword..."

The buffalo slowly passes out, going limp on the ground.

"We can handle it, if he shows back up." Alpha-7 shrugs.

The sword continues to rise out of the stone, faster now Gen had changed his grip.

The stranger gratefully takes Bellah's hand, whatever he's made of is cool to the touch, and while it does feel like a liquid it is very much solid. He weighs very little, maybe 25 pounds.
Standing on his own two feet again, he bows his head gratefully. It's easy to tell now he's closer, he definitely doesn't belong in this world.

(Fun fact, Whisp weighs about as much as a watermelon.)

Daemon sighs in relief. The buffalo hasn't run off again. And now they could return it and wrap up their quest.

The mercenary stands up and glances at both Serenity and Cate. He exits his partial overlord form. Cate's leg was still hurt.
"Serenity, you have enough strength to carry the buffalo. I'll help out Cate and you carry the creature."

Serenity nods. Still using her Surge, Serenity squats and picks up the buffalo before rising up again. And Daemon offers Cate a shoulder and arm.
"Come... let's get to the gate."
And with that said, the three started heading back towards the town gate.

“Yeah... I’ve almost... got it...” Gen leaned side-to-side slightly while he pulled, attempting to wiggle the blade free. “It’s definitely moving.”

“It is?” Erras sounded surprised.

“Strange...” Bellah said to herself, glancing at her hand expecting it to be wet, but it wasn’t.

“I have not met another like you...” she said to the man. “What are you?”

Little by little, the blade continues coming out.
"Are we to take that to mean you doubted our training?" Alpha-7 questions Erras.

The man looks surprised that Bellah asked him about that, and tries to sign something to her. He moves very animatedly, perhaps as a result of the mask making his features unreadable.

(Useful little fact: Stockade knows some limited ASL, not enough to properly hold a conversation, but enough to translate a bit of what Whisp says.)

Lucretia and Marcus simply watched Genii instead of commenting further. Xola and Pholaron's antennas were touching again.

As the trio was passing through the woods to return to the gate, they came across Genii, Alpha-7, Erras, Lucretia and Marcus.

Genii was... pulling out a sword? Daemon raises an eyebrow as he carries Cate while Serenity carries the buffalo.

“No, no.” Erras shook his head. “I am very impressed with Genii’s progress and-“

“You are?” Gen stopped pulling on the sword for a minute and stared at the Knight.

“I am.” Erras nodded with a smile.

Gen had a huge grin on his face as he grabbed hold of the sword’s grip again and gave it all he had.

Bellah recoiled slightly as the masked man began to move his arms around, but eventually realised it was some form of communication. Perhaps one of their group could decipher what he was saying?

“Stop.” Bellah held her palm up to halt the man’s signing. “Come.” She gestured for the stranger to follow, heading for the tavern.

The sword bursts out of the stone at his final tug.

The man pauses from his signing at her order to stop, and jumps a little when instructed to follow, quickly hurrying after her.

Lucretia waves her hands in the air.

Lucretia: "Woot woot!!"
Marcus: "My man's swole now. HA!"

He said to Genii about pulling out the sword.

"Well done!" Daemon congratulates Genii after he pulled out the sword. Serenity nods, she can't clap because she is carrying the buffalo.

"Yeah, I did it!" Gen shouted as he realised, he held the sword up and waved it.

"Bravo!" Erras praised, and clapped.

"... is that a cow?" Gen squinted and pointed the sword over at Daemon, Cate and Serenity.

Bellah occasionally looked back to make sure the stranger was still following. As she reached the tavern she held the door open and jerked her head indicating that he should enter.

The man looks between Bellah and the door for a second before entering, looking around in confusion at all the people.
