[okie here goes! Go easy on me, it’s been years since I’ve RP’ed :joy: I’ll add his bio underneath the ref in a moment.]

————————————-

Wind - really not an ideal weather condition for wandering around a busy market, especially for a siren. In the air a good bluster could be useful (if you knew what you were doing), but on the ground, whilst trying to be inconspicuous and navigate a foreign environment... well... it wasn’t going well.

I suppose you could compare it to holding two huge umbrellas behind your back on a windy day - just staying on your feet was a challenge.

Genii had opted for keeping his back (and unruly wings) to the wall, side stepping awkwardly towards... well he wasn’t quite sure where he was going. Long story short, he’d had a little disagreement (strop) with his travelling companions and decided to take leave (run off) of them to do a little exploring.

He should probably head back soon. Back being left down that path... or was it right and then up those stairs... he’d definitely passed that fruit stand already - the one with the tall blue haired woman with the massive axe.

Genii stopped to watch her from his position against the wall. The only axes he’d ever seen were rusty old wooden ones for chopping wood, so he couldn’t help but admire it. Was it a weapon? Was she a warrior? She was wearing armour, so quite possibly. Before he knew it the quick glance had fallen into gawking territory.

Also I see where this is going xd)

Danivere bound up the last of her grocery bags to make sure they wouldn't fall off due to the wind. Before she went home though, she noticed a boy staring at her wearing old-fashioned clothes. Dani was a little bit suspicious.

Nobody here dresses up like that since 300 years ago... is he another mercenary hired by Artis to spy for him? Danivere thought.

(She hasn't noticed his wings yet)

(Thank you.:+1: Also, how do I add a line?)

————-

“... is she looking at me?” Gen thought out loud, sinking a little under the blue haired woman’s gaze. He knew he was against a wall but looked behind himself anyway - maybe there was an interesting poster there or something? Nope, just a wall. He should probably do something...

He waved.

Then realised he’d waved... with that hand and quickly placed it behind his back.

(Like this -------)

Danivere saw the glowy hand and thought it was one of those newly designed hand cannons. She remembered when one of those cannons was shot at her a few months back during her prison escape.

Not taking any chances, Dani sprinted towards Genii and tackled him to avoid being shot (in her perspective). The two stumbled until they ended up in an alleyway.

(Haha! Oh god :see_no_evil: The action has arrived!)

The initial thoughts of Gen pre-Danivere’s impressive takedown move: ... she’s running... in my direction... looking pretty determined (and angry!)... I’m just gonna keep side stepping (a little faster though)... still running this way... ok she’s pretty much...

“AH!” Gen just about squealed out before the two strangers met the ground. Gen’s first instinct was to cower (which he did), then squirm (but this woman was very strong) and finally... “Let me go!” plead for mercy.

He should have left it there but... “... or I’ll... I’ll...”

(Yeah I'm an action writer/artist xd)

Danivere: "I'll what? Are you going to shoot me with that handgun of yours?!"

She then noticed all the groceries were still at the marketplace.
"Argh damnit, Rosemary is going to get mad at me again..."

Shoot her with a ‘Hand-gun’? Now he knew the word ‘hand’ obviously, but ‘gun’ - that was a new one. As Danivere turned to look at something he saw an opportunity.

He could feel the Soul Stone in his palm activating (glowing, heating up and some weird chanting sound), from all the panic and adrenaline, it was only a matter of time before it went off. He shoved his hand onto Danivere’s chest in anticipation of releasing some sort of magical wrath and...

Nothing.

Crap.

Dani glanced at Genii with a deadpan look.
"Seriously dude? First you spy on me, then you activate your flashy handweapon to attack me and now you're groping me?! Even Artimedes wouldn't do that."

The woman was thinking for a second when she finally noticed the boy's wings. She loosened her grip on him.
"You- what are you? Obviously not someone who is hired by Artis... Speak!"

Genii took his hand away quickly. “I wasn’t... it’s not a weapon - I don’t think - and I wasn’t trying to...” he went red at that part. As Danivere loosened her grip Genii pushed her hands away and dusted himself. Great - only one outfit for this entire journey and it’s ruined already.

“I’m a siren...” he said with a bit more confidence. “And I don’t know who this Artis is.” He picked at the stone shards on his palm. The useless thing was dying down.

“And you’re a human.” Gen presumed out loud. “I was taught that humans were all barbarians... I guess that’s true.”

Danivere sighed.
"Well err... Siren, that depends on whatever happens to cross their paths. Not everyone will fight back fiercely but some do. But I sorry for tackling you, I assumed you were hired to spy on me by King Artimedes. Or worse... hired by someone else to kill me."

Danivere rose up again, picking up her stuff.

“Is that why you carry that big axe with you?” Genii asked, standing up and pointing at it.

“Are you an outlaw or something? What’s your name? Why does your King want to spy on you? Is the axe really heavy?” He took a quick breath before spewing out more. “Have you ever killed anyone with it? Or it is for chopping wood? Who’s trying to kill you?” He briefly peered around Danivere, towards the end of the alley. “... it’s not those those guys is it?”

Danivere looked around. She didn't trust the people Genii was looking at and decided to make a run for it.
"We'll talk about this later... I hope you didn't forget anything or anyone at the marketplace!" Dani said before dragging Genii with her. Lucky for her the groceries from earlier were still at the market place so she picked those up too.
They were heading out of Bergenshire, and towards farmland.

(Let me know if I should pause to let others join in.:+1:)

“... stop.... stop... you run... so fast” Gen complained, holding a stitch in his side “Just need a sec...” .

He took in their new surroundings, turning as he walked. Farmland, weird looking (what were those strange contraptions moving without oxen? Weird.), but it was a more familiar scene at least. It reminded him of home.

Genii hurried to keep up with Dani. She seemed to know where she was going, and by this point he was completely lost. His companions were going to be pissed... and worried.

“I thought you might have just... you know...” Genii paused and swung an imaginary axe through the air in Dani’s direction. “Swoosh!”

(I'm here too, honestly, just looking for a good point to hop in.)

(Ah I think that'll be ok, I can easily recap new people since not too much has passed. Also a friend of mine may join in soon
Edit he is here)

Eventually the two reached their destination. Danivere, after catching her breath:
"Alright... that's better."

She took a moment to calm down.
"I didn't want to reveal my identity on the street, but here it's safe. My name is Danivere, Danivere Wayslaende. I am also the ruler of the Land of Soot."

Dani walked over to the house on the farm and knocked on the door.
"It may be a lot to take in, so I'll tell you everything during dinner. Come on in Siren... err what's your name? Can't keep referring to you as Siren forever."

(Go for it!)

Logical part of Gen’s brain: don’t go into a strangers house, you know this.

Naive part of Gen’s brain (largest bit): but she’s told you her name soooo technically not a stranger now.

Logic: it could be all lies.

Naive: she did mention food though.

Logic: she did! Ok let’s do it!

Genii hesitated, looked back, then shrugged and followed Dani inside.

“Thank you. My name is Gen.” he answered, taking in the contents of the room. “I haven’t heard of the ‘Land of Soot’” he hadn’t heard of many places. “Does that make you a queen?”

(I honestly have no clue how to get involved, so I'll just keep an eye out for an opportunity.)

"Yes, yes it does. You're probably wondering what a queen does outside of her palace but I'll tell you in a minute."

The two entered the house. Inside was a middle-aged short woman sitting at the table. On the couch were two others, a girl with dark brown hair in a braid and orange eyes. And the other was a guy with olive eyes and light-brown hair.

(I don't have a ref picture of Rosemary, their mother, yet)

"I'm back!" Danivere placed the groceries on the kitchen counter.

"Hello sweetheart, did you hold up in the weather?"
Rosemary replied. The two teenagers on the couch turned around.

William: "Heya Danivere, who is this bird man you've abducted?"
"That's not a bird man Bill, that is clearly an angel!"
Amber remarked.

Genii smiled awkwardly (don’t wave) to all the staring faces. There’s more of them... hopefully they don’t suddenly floor him like Dani did.

The older woman had a kind voice though. Bad people don’t usually say things like ‘Sweetheart’, so he relaxed a little.

He decided to let the ‘Bird Man’ comment go - hey at least he said man and not boy , but...

“Angel?” Another term he wasn’t quite familiar with.

“I’m actually a siren... don’t you have sirens here?”

"A siren?" They looked puzzled.
"Don't they usually have fins instead of wings? And Amber is right, you do look like an angel." William asked.
Rosemary gave William a glance to tell him to stop.

"I'm afraid there's no sirens here, my boy. Most of the things you are describing are, well, fairytales here in our country."
She gave Genii a warm smile.
"But why don't you eat with us? It sounded like Danivere had to explain a lot to you anyways."
Rosemary gestured towards the table.
