Erras turned left, leading the group away from the cliff path and deeper into the mountains. Basalt towers, archways and fissures covered the barren landscape, and being this high up it was much colder.
Eventually the group came to a canyon, with colossal pillars on either side and a river running through the centre of it. The long stone winding corridor appeared to stretch on for miles.
Genii (now back to normal) swung his and Danivere’s hands casually as they entered the canyon. He wasn’t really paying attention to his surroundings, eyes locked on to Dani as he chirped about anything and everything that came to mind.
Gemma was glad she hadn’t exchanged shoes with Mina. The ground here was very rocky, damp and slippery.
Although they were higher, Bellah felt more relaxed in the enclosed gorge. She walked closer to the mountain stream intending to drink from it.
“... and then you (you-you-you)...” Genii grinned at Danivere. “Ooh! (Ooh!-ooh!-ooh!)... Echo! (Echo!-echo!-echo!)” the siren proceeded to shout things into the canyon and encouraged everyone to join in.
