Hello! I'm a first time writer on Tapas.
A dragon with scales of malachite gives a peasant girl magical strength and skills. Now she must discover what these changes mean, and navigate the grand expectations being placed on her. A story with monsters both inhuman and human, following a protagonist's journey into danger, love, and some much needed maturity.
My goal is to write a fantasy with intrigue, mystery, lots of monster ideas that live rent free in my head, with a through-line of a teenage girl with autism(coded because of setting) coming into adulthood. My own personal fantasy based on my own life experiences, basically, with a lot of added excitement. 
Hi everyone, this is my first story published on Tapas and this is my first time writing anything in the forums. I'm a writer who has always kept his stuff offline because I wanted it to be perfect, but then never did anything with it- and that's why this competition has been so great! The word count limit for every chapter means I have to get to the point.
I've published 4 chapters so far, and I've got another 4 in the bank already. I write one, edit one, and then give another a final pass and then publish. I also have a full time job, a wife, a 2 year old and we are having a second baby in like... 5 to 6 weeks? So I'm trying to get as much done as possible before then.
So my story!
Coagulate takes place in a world where Vampires exist and the organisation that fights against them are people called Dentists. Ashyer is new to the job and the story picks up on his first shift on a night when the Vampires are more powerful - a night of No Moon.
This is a story that is... SOMEWHAT autobiographical, which sounds weird, but I'll explain one day if people are interested.

Shattered Kingdom
Princess Aleydis is an ordinary princess of a small country of little renown. Her one goal in life is to graduate from Constellations Academy with honors so that she can help support her brother when he ascends the throne.
However, her world comes crashing down around her when a barrier appears over her country, cutting them off from the rest of empire and surrounding nations.
Separated from her country and family, surrounded by enemies on all sides, will she find a way to rescue her home and her people or will she be forever fated to live in exile from everything she holds dear.
So what I've really enjoyed so far is the world building. So I've got this story seed and a few characters to start off with. Now, I get to sit down and explore what their world is really like. So much potential and fun.
Unfortunately, my country isn’t eligible to participate, though I don’t know that I would anyway. However, I am finally working to finish my action fantasy novel, and I guess it’s good timing with the tourney. I just updated mine after a long time, with a new cover, banner, artwork, a map, charts and new chapters releasing through the next two months. So, hope people can give it a read as well. It’s basically my Batman meets Lord Of The Rings lol.

First, I wanted to hone my craft and learn to write more action.
Second, I wanted to write about a Puerto Rican Afro-Latine character.

My favorite thing is building the romance between the two characters and writing the complexities of the plot. Evil king, angels, demons, possession, betrothal, etc.
