Hello! I'm participating in Tapas_AF_Tourney, and I want to read others. But Tapas has an annoying novel filtering system, and promoting your work is helpful anyway. So promote your novel by giving a summary and your favorite thing about your novel so far.

My Novel: Draconic-Desire

After being sentenced to death. Roxas wakes up in his 10-year-old body.

Roxas struggles to find a new path and the knowledge of the future. He knows he could go for the throne again, but he doesn’t want it both in his past and current life. On the other hand, he still wants power and control.

His one true desire is to fight for the people he loves. His family, his dragon, his friends, and someone new.

Throughout the story, Orion and Roxas try and work together both on their relationship and getting power.
Favorite thing so far: Coming up with dragons concepts. I just like making up fantasy creatures like Rakon my butterfly dragon.

I can't wait to read your novels!

Hi, here is my novel for the contest!

The Silver Sorcerer

Murat, the unremarkable second son of a tribal chieftain in the highlands, lives in the shadow of his renowned elder brother Temur. No one expects much of him and he spends most of his time daydreaming.

On the eve of Temur’s wedding, when Murat is returning from a trip to the lowlands with a gift he bought for his brother, he encounters a mysterious silver-haired stranger in the forest with a face similar to his own. His travel companion says that the stranger might be the Silver Sorcerer and is uncertain whether his appearance is a good or bad omen. Later that week, Murat’s life is completely upended when soldiers from a neighboring empire invade his village.

Will Murat survive and what role does the silver-haired stranger play in all of this?

Favorite thing so far: Doing historical research for worldbuilding purposes

Enoki had a simple life of trying new foods, cooking, and showing what ze learned on hir blog. While trying a new dish, ze suddenly found out ze was deathly allergic to the main ingredient. Luckily for hir, the gods had a need for such a person. Gifting hir a new shapeshifting body, the gods set Enoki on a quest. Find the ingredients for and cook the dishes for the Godly Feast before time runs out. Succeed and gain blessings for the races whose dishes are well represented. Fail, and watch as everyone is destroyed.
Updates Thurs/Mon mornings

What I like best about it is how everyone is getting hungry reading the food descriptions and I seem to be making folks laugh.

My favorite this is literally just how much fun my cowriter and I have been having with writing it. It's been such a wonderful experience, and I think that comes through in the words

Stunt woman, Jade Sandoval, lands her dream-job: being a stunt woman for the leading role in a big-budget Hollywood film.
Too bad the director is an arrogant man-child, the script doesn’t make sense, the stunts are more dangerous than they are cool... and that's not even mentioning how skimpy the costumes are.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, during filming Jade finds herself INSIDE the movie as the leading lady herself.
ACTION!
Jade is forced to tackle the role of a life time, as a knight who’s on a dangerous quest to recover a magical artifact and save the world. But more importantly she must save herself from the commander who is convinced he loves her.
This Ace wants no King of Hearts.
Will she nail the stunt or fall on her ass?
CUT!
Soon in cinemas near you!

My favorite thing is probably that this story's a bit darker than what I usually write. It's fun to try new things out, so I'm enjoying working on it!

ANTEMORTEM

When a thief takes the magic staff keeping Cassian alive, the former necromancer is forced to shatter the staff in order to keep it away from the man who hired the thief—a man who betrayed him and all but sentenced him to death. Now, Cassian has to go on a quest to gather the pieces of the staff before the enemy. It just so happens that Elias—the thief—has a score to settle as well.

The two journey together, gathering the pieces of the magical artifact while trying not to kill each other along the way. Though they just might grow closer than either expected before their journey’s end.

Here is my bit of fun for the contest! Going back to my LitRPG roots with "Final Eden," an Action Fantay/Progression/GameLit/Isekai story about a girl who becomes a snake and has to deal with it. XD

"All Noa wanted to do was play a game with her friends--but sucked into the world and transformed into a measly little snake, she finds herself as part of the game instead.

Noa's not one to be defeated by a little transmigration, though. With the help of the system and the friends she makes as she rises beyond her fate, she finds her way.

But as she comes into her own and takes her place at the top of the food chain, will she be the heroine of her story? Or will she find out that she's the one the real players are meant to defeat?"

My favorite thing about it? I'm literally just having fun and trying some new things while taking a break from more serious stuff, so I think that makes the story a lot of fun in return. XD

I think I'm already subscribed to everyone here already (y'all are the best)~ but I'll share mine here with you again anyway :two_hearts: I'm going for spooky/thriller vibes

My favorite thing about it is probably that it’s my first real action-y story and it’s fun to write!

Brief: In a cutthroat world where rank and status are dictated by magical affinity, Elana is a royal disappointment. Despite being born into a family of high ranking dark magicians, she can’t conjure any magic. Her best chance of surviving the famously brutal trials of the Royal Academy is to rely on her own raw intellect and Soren, her trusted attendant… until tragedy reveals a new way for her to pay back the pain and avenge her way to the top.

If you're into survival stories in high-fantasy settings, you might like Of Lowlifes, Lutes, & Liars":

Gather round for the harrowing tale of a faraway world, where humans and Outsiders clash under the fierce twin suns for control over territory, resources, and survival. This story follows Khazmine Asteras, a half-breed "abomination" bent on surviving in a world that hates everything she represents. Along the way, she finds two small children in desperate need of her care and protection. Can Khazmine and her "Little Brothers" prevail in a harsh human territory where their mere existence is deemed "monstrous" and unwelcome? Find out in this story "Of Lowlifes, Lutes, & Liars!"

Mine is high fantasy, and I never like giving too much away, but it's about a little dude living in a seeming paradise... but brawls might happen after he realizes things might not be so perfect.

Jan lives a quiet life in a world where the only things that exist are he, his mother, and a few animals. He wakes up, eats, drinks, reads, explores, and falls asleep again. He is happy in this paradise, and nothing can go wrong... until the cracks start showing.

Summary: When Aura has been raised all her life to be a possible candidate of the heiress/chosen one. Everything takes a twist when her twin Aster kills her. Aura is reborn as a mere commoner and must look for other warriors to reclaim her throne and restore peace. Title: The spirit princess. Book 1: spirits

Hello! This is my action fantasy novel! If you like revenge plots, manipulative characters, and a cold mc, this is the story for you! And regarding what my favorite thing about my novel is so far, I would have to say similar to @caffeinatsun, this is my first action story and it's just fun to write a new genre outside of my comfort zone. I'm used to writing romance, so this is a new and fun direction for me.

Summary:
The human kingdom of Selis values individuals who can manipulate mana very highly, while disparaging those who are unable to with the derogatory term "nerics." Elric Sinclair, a young neric, faced a childhood marked by poverty and classism. After tragically losing his family to corrupt and arrogant nobles, Elric plunged into deep sorrow, contemplating ending his life. Yet, in a strange twist of fate, a miracle occurs, and he is brought back from the brink of death. Now, with newfound resolve, Elric is committed to avenging his family and destroying the oppressive system that has plagued nerics for far too long.

Hi. I decided to try and join the contest. My entry:

If I Die Tonight, Will you Remember Me?

The story is set in the world of Elthrea, which has been plagued by a destructive, otherworldly phenomenon called Anomalies, while a group of heroes called the Gatekeepers keep them at bay. The story follows a veteran hero who must learn to rediscover the meaning/purpose of his vocation as he encounters new experience and oddities. This is my first time writing in first person POV, but it's been fun so far.

Hello, this was originally a story I had planned to work on starting in December but this contest kicked my butt in gear. I just dropped the first chapter today!

Dogmatic Dungeon Domnion

In a world where the ordinary collides with the extraordinary, the boundary between reality & the supernatural has become dangerously thin. As dungeons—hazardous rifts to other realms teeming with monstrous threats—begin to appear across the city, humanity’s last line of defence is the Hunter Association. At the heart of this crisis is Penn Jennson, a newly awakened Guide for Hunters (Espers/Awakeners) whose life is about to change dramatically.

At 27, Penn has left a promising military career to embrace his new role as a Guide. Guides, psychically linked with Hunters — individuals with extraordinary powers—navigate & seal the perilous dungeons that erupt throughout the city. Penn’s transition from soldier to Guide is rocky, especially when paired with Nathan Landry, a veteran Hunter known for his aloof demeanour & reckless tendencies.

Nathan, a seasoned Hunter, contrasts sharply with Penn’s disciplined, strategic mindset. Their partnership is strained, as Penn is methodical & focused on the greater good, while Nathan is impulsive & often dismissive of rules.

With dungeons appearing with alarming frequency, each a labyrinth of darkness filled with nightmarish creatures, Penn & Nathan must enter these dungeons, confront their inhabitants & seal them before the monsters can escape. Each mission tests their skills & teamwork, pushing their limits. Penn must adapt to his role & support Nathan while Nathan wrestles with his own demons and growing responsibilities.

As they delve deeper, they uncover a disturbing pattern suggesting the dungeons are part of a larger, sinister scheme. Navigating treacherous traps and confronting formidable dungeon bosses, they face a darkening cityscape where trust is scarce, & every decision could mean the difference between salvation and destruction.

Amid the chaos, Penn struggles with the loss of his former life and his growing attachment to Nathan - while Nathan battles a haunted past that threatens to push his Guide away.

My story is about a guy named Jan who is content living in a peaceful paradise and wants for nothing. He's lazy and likes having things done for him. But, he's about to be pushed into doing very difficult things. I think my favorite part of my story is that the concept is fairly unique and I enjoy the characters.

My Novel: Crystal Blue

File Name: Mora Glas

Species: Homo Phantasma

Instructions: Cover her tracks and keep her away from the Actaeon.

My favorite thing about the story so far: The characters emotional dynamics, and the lore/world building, especially revolving around "The Sanctuary."
