Tapas apps alternative for novels

Hello, I really like Webtoons & Tapas for comics, but for Novels, I would like know if there is some alternative for tapas.. I know about webnovels, but I don't like their chaotic app, that is not even working well... I would like to write novel, but for now I'm preparing it to publish only on Tapas, because well, webnovels and other alternatives suck.

I'm on tapas and Wattpad, but I like tapas more than WP. While wattpad is bigger, it's utter competition and the community isn't as good as here...

I also tried RoyalRoad, but I took it down again due to lack of time to maintain more than two platforms.

Tapas has the least views off all platforms for me, still this is the one I prefer mostly, just based on the community.

I've been on wattpad for years, it use to be a lot better when it was smaller with fewer business involvement l, but still, it's quite good.
It's s draft and upload section is tidy, you can add loads of media to chapters, it's very big and there are community competitions and challenges to partake in.

I'm on Wattpad, Tapas, and Inkitt.

My favorite is Inkitt. It's very user friendly and there aren't forums there. They have open groups for Reviews and Beta-Readers. You have to put in some work- most people will only do a review for a review- but I found the feedback I received helpful and the people to be friendly.

And between Tapas and Wattpad, yes Tapas is more for graphic artists, but I prefer it over Wattpad. I just had a big ol' rant about Wattpad being nearly impossible for self promotion and exposure regarding newer writers.

You can try Webnovel. When I'm not reading fanfics, I read original stories here. Here's the link if you wanna check it out.

Hi, back during major quarantine times I made a fairly comprehensive list of almost all web fiction sites on the entire internet, including some that have apps:

I have not tried any of the platforms with apps so I cannot say how they are. I recommend the stories on Royal Road and Scribble Hub--a lot of good stuff there--and I can personally ANTI-recommend Wattpad; the site is too difficult to find good stories on as a reader, and you will read way too much garbage trying to find anything that's worth it. Please check out Top Web Fiction as well for some of the most popular stories, many of which are not on any platform or app.

If you are a WRITER, then once again I recommend Royal Road and Scribble Hub; they have very good text editors, and chapter scheduling just like Tapas. I hear that Neovel.io is pretty promising too, though it is still very new.

I don't know for reading as I've never read a story on there, but I know from fellow writers that Webnovel/Quidan is a site to absolutely avoid at all costs when considering to post stories from. I've heard many horror stories about it. Similarly, there is a lot of controversy about the site Inkitt, and while I haven't heard directly from it, that site is not all that popular these days to begin with.

As I said in first post, webnovel is something I want avoid, because it suck... community, website, app, this all is really bad... UI/UX chaotic to find popular novels, so I don't know How is it able to find my novel for other peoples.

I think the worst concrete things about Webnovel are that 1. once your series is up there, you cannot delete it for whatever reason (you can edit the content, but it will still be connected to your account. But if you want to leave the site entirely, you have to e-mail them and explain why you want your account deleted. There is no simple delete button). And 2. they also censor mentions about Patreon so you can't direct people to support you.

I upload my current novel to Royal Road as well, even though I haven't updated in a while. I quite like RR. One of the best things is that you can keep the formatting of the text, so all indentations, italics, bolds etc. stay when you copy paste. There's also an option to schedule updates which is a big plus.
They have a lot of different genres and tags to use.

I gained pretty decent traction there. For a long time Royal Road was ahead on views to Tapas even though I have a pre-existing audience there (unlike in Tapas). However the sub and likes ratio was very low. I still have only three favourites (subs) while having over 2k overall views. But that could be because I haven't engaged with the audience enough or for some other reasons.
Another downside in my opinion is that there isn't an option to directly talk to your readers outside of the author notes in updates, so no author walls like here. So giving updates on what is going on is lot harder.

But I'm probably going to keep using RR for updates in the future, and I definitely recommend giving it a try. It's a pretty simple platform to use. And they allow posting the stuff to multiple platforms so you can upload your content both here and there if you want.

I use Wattpad and Tapas. Right now the main reason I still prefer Wattpad to Tapas is no character limit for chapters and I've been on Wattpad longer so I already have an established fanbase, thus when I posted something I actually got reads LOL. That being said, Wattpad is really tough to get reads on if you're new unless you get a dash of luck. I had to really work to get my fanbase and I know I have to do that here, I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it LOL So if your comics have an established fan base here already I'd suggest sticking them here and hoping people will check them out, but there's nothing wrong with cross promoting them on more than one site.
