So, I went through the Radish closure, and now the Tapas shutdown.
It is feeling a little like deja-vu.
But at least, I have a whole back list of previously Indie published novels and novellas published through Draft2digital and KDP. On Radish, I got my kpop romance, Love Over Kpop, finished. I got it polished and completed for this platform. So, I'm planning on rewriting it into chapter format and giving it a final publish as an ebook and print edition. I've been working on it for 8 years. This seems like a fitting ending for a project that has been developed, written, edited and evolved on three different serial platforms, Kindle Vella, Radish and now Tapas. I'm am starting to guess that maybe serial platforms are dying out as human community forums since AI can now replace the writers that were used to write the content. But that is just a guess, really.
Anyway, since I've done three different serial platforms, I'm deciding to just put my project on Tapas into novel form and self-publish. That is my plan. I do have projects and a full webnovel on Wattpad, and I may do the same for that, because at the rate things are going, maybe other serial platforms will also close. AI could be just killing the internet as we knew it. I am speculating, but really, for short content platforms, AI is being used for writing content and creating videos, more and more. Not sure if this is why Tapas is getting closed down, but you never know.
So, let me know your plan. I think about now, a conversation on where and what all of us authors are doing is worth posting before this whole sideshow gets shut down for good.
In closing, thanks for all the fish.
