Hi everybody~
two years ago the proposition to start the tapas tarot card collab was made, and as cool of an idea as it sounded it unfortunately never took off. There have been interest in the topic so @kip @Zaboem and I have decided to re-open the idea with an organized and reasonable method of accomplishing such a fun collaboration idea.
To keep this simple we will only be doing the 22 major Arcana cards (0-The Fool to 21-The World), with one creator taking on a card at a time. That way you can focus on just the one card and it will hopefully not interfere with your own personal works. This will be a first come first serve kind of collaboration, so if you know what card you would like, let us know right away. We will keep track of who has what here:
00 The Fool: Arisu_kosuta
01 The Magician: Cleo_san
02 The High Priestess: Azifri
03 The Emperess: TAMAnnoying
04 The Emperor: Rainbowolf
05 The Hierophant: Inkythoughts
06 The Lovers: GusC
07 The Chariot: Chita
08 The Justice: Kura
09 The Hermit: Nail
10 The Wheel of Fortune: Ryoko
11 The Strength: Rhonder
12 The Hanged Man: Zanmap
13 The Death: Silverraven0
14 The Temperance: Koreantacos
15 The Devil: Kittosaurus
16 The Tower: Aetoras
17 The Star: Kann
18 The Moon: forlackofstars
19 The Sun: racarter
20 The Judgement: Dawgofdawgness
21 The World: starveewolf
This is full creative control so long as you keep your chosen tarot within the original cards context. You're free to use characters from your own work or create a completely original piece. To keep everything a surprise (I like surprises don't you?) your completed card should be sent over to @KoreanTacos and they will put it in a secret hidden google drive vault where we will show off all the cool work you guys put into all of this.
An example of different interpretations using The World, but still representing the same idea:
Basically if you were to look at the card and still be able to go, oh that's the World then you are still keeping your creative interpretation intact while still keeping the original meaning of the tarot. I hope this makes sense.
Settings:
Basically in order to have some level of consistency all tarots need to be set to:
2300 x 4000
300 - 600 dpi
PNG file
Must have a watermark of some sort (logo, name, etc.)
Here's the template for the card you can either download (HUGE EMPHASIS ON DOWNLOAD NOT RIGHT CLICK!) and base your art inside or use the dimensions before and place the template on top, we'll be featuring both card and original art versions of each card (Credit for the templates goes to @Nail):
If you have any questions you are very much welcome to ask, because due dates are great motivators for now a due date will be April, 07. If you don't think you can make it by that time this may unfortunately be not for you. I hope you guys will be interested and we really think this could be a fun project to work on with the community.
When all the cards are done and sent we'll open up a gumroad for you guys to download and are free to do what you wish so long as you don't try to sell them in anyway. This is just a fun project after all this doesn't need to be needlessly complicated, let's just express our creativity please.
Because @nails has been kind enough to do the card templates feel free to vote by liking the template you like best (one like please) the one with the most likes will be the chosen one, I'll keep this going until all 22 slots are full.
Have a good day/evening
