Out of curiosity, what do you guys think is best for posting novels, Tapas or Wattpad?
I would love to hear people's experiences with either.

I've been to Wattpad.
Honestly, it's really hard reaching out to people in Wattpad. People just look at the recommendations on the home screen, so small creators don't usually get attention.
Unlike Tapas, where people are quite vocal about what they like, or what they don't like. Example: The Forum.
To my information, Wattpad doesn't have any.
And plus, the content in Tapas is better. Less lemons, and more stories with a semblance of plot.
I think Tapas is better for posting novels, because people here want to explore new stuff, which means there's more attention given to small creators.
I agree with @Heliox14. Unless you're super popular really fast, it's hard to get noticed on Wattpad. Since Tapas is smaller, your story will stand out more. Also, plagiarism is very rampant on Wattpad, so be careful.
I tried using Wattpad once and frankly, it was a piece of crap. Every time I tried to post my work, it never showed up. It never showed up in the Wattpad equivalent of "Fresh". It never even appeared in the search bar itself. If my work can't even show up for people to see, what's the point?
At least with Tapas, I know people can see my work. I know every time I post, it will show up in the Fresh section. I can advertise in the forum if I wish. Add in the lack of any real quality content and large aspect of plagiarism only concerns Wattpad more.
It can be difficult enough getting attention with comics on Tapas. It's even harder to get attention with Novels. Imagine how difficult it must be on Wattpad where getting notice is even harder and your work may not even show up? Until Wattpad has fixed many of these fundamental mistakes, don't bother.
You'd have a much better chance I think posting your novels on other comic hosting sites. If anyone gives you lip about posting a novel, you tell them to shut it and shove it up their rear ends.
So yes, to answer the question, Tapas all the way. I think pretty much any site would be better than Wattpad if its anywhere as much of a joke as the last time I used it.
Personally I prefer Tapas. From a technical point of view, it is so easy to use. Also, since novels are a new category, there is really good scope of being discovered. Unlike my comic Existentialist Crisis15, my novel Beautiful Rebellious Brainiacs39 semi-regularly shows up on Trending and Popular.
I think people read me more in Tapas, but truth to be told I a not so active in Wattpad

I've been using wattpad for six or seven years, and Tapas for almost seven months, and Tapas is by far the better site.
Wattpad has gone drastically downhill. The community is pretty nasty now, and it's extremely hard to get your work noticed unless you're posting fetish fanfic works around popular youtubers or celebrities (one more 1D fanfic and I'll scream lol). I have more followers there, of course, because I've been there longer- but very few of them are interactive or even seem to read my writing. Their new 'premium' option is also ridiculous, mostly aimed at app users who can't get rid of ads as easily as PC users.
It's much, MUCH easier to get noticed on Tapas, and the whole community is much more friendly! I was highlighted by Tapas staff in the first couple of weeks being on the site and that was pretty cool. I also love the tipping system as a way for readers to give back with the option to not spend any money (which I learned repeatedly from wattpad was a very, very big thing).
Tapas all the way!
I know this is an old thread, but just want to thank you for this. I was on Wattpad. The community is nice but posting stories on the site is not so great.
No chance for feedback, even the ones that could improve your story. You have to constantly promote in the forums. Writers are doing reads for reads and want the read to be recorded on their story page because the more reads a reader sees, the more they want to click. So I'm using only the Wattpad community to get critiques only. I'm not even wishing for reads at this point and did not post my story.
The types of stories there is another factor. I have to dig hard for the ones I really want and they recommend it to me when I choose them. The ones on the popular page seem to have been there for years or since the site was built. I know they are popular for a reason by why give them most of the space alone? Why not give the new writers a space too?
I just joined Tapas and I'm really liking how everything is here. It seems more simple and organized.
i was permanently banned from wattpad when a conservative woman got upset b/c she was uncomfortably with me talking about breasts
but all i did was copy paste the definition of 'bust' when i was talking to a friend on a chat thread
she wasn't even a part of the conversation
and like idk if you've been on some parts of wattpad but that was pretty tame of me
idk it's a weird place.
i don't go there any more.
