From what I remember how TvTropes is run is that the mods really don't like creators pimping their work. You might get away with that on one of forks but not TvTropes.

The Lolita incident happened when Google adsense warned Fast Eddie about "questionable content" involving minors in "sexual content". So he wiped everything "loli" in it including the novel, "Lolita" to have the site acceptable to Google. The resulting backlash had him restoring the "Lolita" novel.

As mentioned in the TVTropes articles I linked above, they specifically say you can make pages for your own works with rules, such as no YMMV and you can't use the article as Word Of God trope. And this is why the articles and I said several times make sure you have something to say. At least three tropes is recommended and as stated in several articles go through TVTropes and make a list before creating a page. Pages without any content look like spam and is at risk of deletion.

Please read all the available information given by TVTropes on how to create a page and the rules before creating if you don't want to get into trouble. This should be common sense for all new sights you want to create something on. Read all the information and rules you can.

I'm just gonna quote and bold this because that's exactly what I'm doing right now. I'm going through both of my comics -- one is completed, another has a completed arc -- and reading through the tropes to see which ones fit my works. And then I'm making a list before starting one. I'm thinking of having at least 10 tropes or so -- plus trivia -- before starting the works.

It helps to plan accordingly.

10 might not be enough considering most people read on mobile. Remember it's like any other marketing of your comic - even if you don't have a whole lot of plot, at least have plenty on the main characters, so people don't scroll down and get disappointed it's small.

But not every single one needs a description - I've seen some get away with just the trope name and nothing else in between a few described instances because it's an obvious characteristic of the work(like say, a comic with adventuring guild in the summary doesn't need much on World of Adventure unless you want to add a subversion).

Look on the good side though - at least their anti adblocker isn't broken like it was a few months ago and shutting down the page even if you turned it off... I hope.

little tip: when adding tropes, for example 2 word tropes are basically capitalized along with no space, like "OldHag".. when it comes to single word tropes, type it like {{This}} for it to go through. for example, my comic, when adding it to trope pages, it has to be "Webcomic/{{Royal}}" or it'll not hyperlink

For those worried that its too selfish that they put their work out there for others to see- most work I decide to consume these days is because I find them on TVtropes.
