Excuse me, but I'm wondering why you decided to set the bar for art quality for what is supposed to be just a fun collab for a bunch of artists so high it seems? Like, I can understand why you'd want only family friendly comics that aren't on hiatus, and maybe having more professional art would make sense if this was going to be published in a zine or something you'd have to pay for, but for a fun free collab, you seemingly setting the bar for entry so unreasonably high and exclusive doesn't really seem very fair to many artists or like a particularly good idea in the long run if that makes sense.
I'm sorry to raise a fuss, but that's been something that's been on my mind for quite a while ever since we got your answer and I'm curious as to why the reason that is.

Before I answer this, I want to point out that even though I had some clear guidelines, you yourself did not
1. Let me know which position you wanted and
2. Provide me a direct link to your comic (you sent me your creator page which has various comics)
The discord part is understandable.
Yes, I still accepted some people even when they did not follow these, but they were also stronger contenders (and it was generally easier to figure out which was the comic they wanted to use)
Let me be clear, the bar that I have set is not "high". Every single participant I have accepted are part of the Tapas community comics. None are Tapas Originals, THOSE comics have an objectively high standard. We at Tapiyoka Studios have a high standard for ourselves and to keep that integrity we would like our collaborators to be of a similar standards, ideals, and goals. We want to influence others and also be influenced by those that are ambitious. Yes, this is a fun little thing for those that are a part of it, but it is also a good way to network. If you check all of the current participants, there are actually quite a diverse difference in art skill level, subscriber count, comics episode count, etc, etc. We do try to make it as open as possible (keeping all these things in mind).
If I intended to make an event for EVERYONE and ANYONE, then I would have done that from the start. My event is not unreasonable, and by nature because there is a picking process, yes to some degree you could call it "exclusive", I will not deny that. I am not trying to hide any dark motives, I just don't think it is necessary for me to point these things out. People can read the posts, people can analyse the situation and figure these things out.
To add on top of everything, and to give you a personal answer, I have mentioned that we will be promoting all of these comics in one of our episodes. So yes, to an extent that is a personal choice that we wish to promote arguably nice comics in the name of our brand. I respect all applicants and take my time out to go through every comic to decide. In return you should also respect our decisions.
Hi Starlight, thank you for trying out. I read about 4 to 5 episodes of your comic. I'm sorry but I will have to decline you mostly due to your comic having an inconsistent background which some may possibly even be copy-pasted..?

It is not a contest. We will be drawing the Christmas tree and the background. Our main character/s may be present there as well.
And those same characters coming from your current series on webtoon and tapas, yes? Or is this a different series you have not presently uploaded?
I see. Just concerned though if thats the case. I checked it out, love the art by the way. Im just not comfortable with a scene of a older looking gentlemen spiking the drink of a female character you have and I am just wondering if thats family friendly or not for the christmas collab you have going on. Mostly because it made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy.
That and i just wanted to ask after i continue reading more if scenes like that or worse happens further down the line and if the characters in question would be included into the collab?

The characters will only be Tomohiro and Cassandra (you can see on the template that they are hanging on top). As for 'family friendly', we are mostly just concerned about gore and overly sexualised content (which is not, and will not be present in our series). Our comic has some mature themes, but it is safe by our standards. We appreciate you looking at our comic ^^ (even though I can see you clearly fishing for some sort of opportunity to call out hypocrisy 
)
