The update otherwise known as - omigosh this is still actually a thing?
Okay so with everything that was going on in my personal life progress kind of went of a boulder-pushing pace.
Now my comic's on hiatus it gives me more time to focus. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that the time I spend on the comic will completely shift over to working on this lol. Freeing up time is to give myself a break
However on to where I'm at. I've redesigned the character vs screen as it looked like a mess, added sound. I'm not sure if I've mentioned but the recorded matches should now be playing back properly so people only have to download one SWF for the whole thing.
So what's left?!
At this point I'd say what needs to be done is revamping the victory screen (which I admit you guys haven't seen, but I have, and eesh), and then the additional things such as the webpages for it to sit in, and figure out how to post updates to tapastic (will most likely be created as a comic series for announcement purposes which will update when a new battle is up). After that it's testing the waters with a couple of beta testers (who have already been pre-selected ^_^;) to make sure that the creation process works, and then I think we're good to go!
Other things worth mentioning...
I hope you guys know your characters height as there will be a height scale provided for creating your character. It'll help keep everyone to scale with one another!
Stages! I know a few people have offered to provide a stage. Works for me! There'll be a template I'll create for those that want to (naturally you can provide both stage and character if you want), however for the music it'd be much appreciated if you're able to provide your own for the stage - but I must be legally allowed to use it! Worst case scenairio - RPG maker VX OST? (Which I own, it's hardly the greatest of hits but it beats dead silence!)
Plus I think I've finally tweaked how knockouts will happen. I know a few people had concerns of getting their character knocked out after 2 seconds and then thats it. So how did I decide to combat this...?
Everyone starts with 2 hearts and can cap at 3. For each victory you steal a heart from the loser. If someone steals a heart when they're maxed it goes into the void, if you lose all your hearts, it's game over. This ensures each person gets a minimum of 2 battles before getting bumped. It also means there's no guessing how long it'll last! However match ups will most likely be a surprise!
