Info dumps welcome:

I'll start with Texas. She is third gen american. Both sets of her grandparents came from France but her parents were born in Texas and met each other in their teens.

Chili on the other hand, is first gen American. His grandparents on both sides were friends and moved to Panama from Malaysia together. His parents were eight and eleven years old respectively, and grew up hanging out a lot because their two families were the only familiar things to fall back on in the new country.

That said they adjusted well to Latin America (Chili's dad's side actually changed their surname to Cruz to blend in) and when Chili's parents were teens their whole families, grandparents, siblings and all moved from Panama to Texas where Chili was born.

Yay, I love family histories / adding unnecessary lore to my OCs!!
realizes every single family history of my and my friend’s OCs is an important part of their backstory and therefore a spoiler
Oh well, I can still do it without dropping any names:

So, one of our OCs is half Korean and half German, and this is how it came to be: her father came to Korea from Germany for business reasons. There, just for fun, he had a one night stand with a Korean woman who thought he was going to start an actual relationship with her, but he actually had no interest in that. Now, this is where the problems start, because she got pregnant from this and now had to face disapproval from society because she wasn’t married. So when her daughter was born, she turned to this guy for support, and he initially didn’t want to take her and her daughter in because he was a huge racist, but for this same reason he did it anyway when he saw that the daughter had his sky blue eyes… and this is where the spoilers start.

Another OC of ours lives with a foster family, but her biological mother is actually alive. Her parents were both born in Russia and weren’t really fans of communism (for context, the story is historical), each for different reasons. So when the revolution hit, they emigrated to Shanghai because they would face persecution in the Soviet Union. Their daughter was born there. After that, the mother became increasingly involved with criminals. She ended up killing the father and giving her daughter into foster care, and then became a forgery kingpin who specialized in faking jewelry. Her daughter is now an adult and despises criminals, but still has connections to them.

Hope this wasn’t too much of an info dump and at least a little bit interesting

Was the guy the mother turned to to help related to the girls biological father?

Eman Cruz... born to Filipino immigrants to Canada. And they both suck.

Fr. Jose... born and raised by a single mom prostitute. Father unknown.

Lucia... Filipina mom, white dad. Both died in a car accident. Raised by pedophile abusive parents in the foster care system

Cedrick... both parents not in the picture... raised by granny

Caiden Clanwing is a half-elf born to a human father and an elven mother. His father is a hero among the elves for defending them from corrupt human kingdoms and beast kingdoms.

YES LORE DUMPING TIME!!
Some of the stuff I’ll probably end up yapping about is supposed to be revealed on page 118- but seriously who’s gonna remember what I say now two years later?

So, Xivian is descended from the ruling family of sorcerers. The sorcerers came into power when the last living sorcerer from the outside world was thrown inside the island prison to fend for himself. But instead of grieving for his family who was just murdered in front of his eyes, he works on building an organized society among the criminals and outcasts surviving on the island. He creates a new family, which rules for many generations. Xivian and Daevon’s parents were both Sorcerers… meaning they were probably cousins… oop :skull: well that was okay back then.

As for Mev, her family is ostracized from the rest society because people fear the Gorgans. Certain aspects of the fear is justified, but most of the reasons people think they fear gorgans aren’t real. The gorgans all live together in a little community. (Except for Mev, for personal reasons.)

Mev is actually kinda a princess to her people (she’s the daughter of the village chief. But that’s not really relevant to the story at all just a fun fact) that makes me wanna animate that one scene in Moana with her…

Keanu Ikazuchi from Raikiri's family is actually the subject of the current chapters I'm releasing (subtle plug).
There's a lot more to their history, but it's not really relevant, unless I get off my ass and write the prequel I had in mind.

Keanu's mother, Mariko Ikazuchi, is the daughter of the Thunder Shaman, one of the five spiritual leaders of the Mercenary guilds.
Kekoa Puahiohio went to him to learn how to fight where he met Mariko, who he nicknamed Mari much to her annoyance. A student of the Shaman herself, Mariko also served as a mentor to Kekoa and his classmates, often putting them in their place.

Kekoa made a name for himself in the great Mercenary War; a war fought exclusively by Mercenary clans that brought the continent to near ruin. No ideology, no land gained, but purely for the sake of greed.
Along with his clan brothers, Kekoa was one of the three natural disasters, earning the nickname, Kekoa the Hurricane. Overtime his optimism was whittled away, finding himself fighting people he once fought and partied alongside torn apart by the different Daimyo vying for lucrative contracts.

Meanwhile Mariko came of the age to find a mate; the angel people are exclusively female and migrate to the land of Spartoi to find a worthy father for their children. Girls stay with the mother and boys are sent to live with the father in Sparta.
Wanting a mate she knew, Mariko asked Kekoa to father her children, offering a fancy sword as a dowery.
However he found himself despondent after nearly a decade of fighting, unworthy of becoming a father. After encouragement from his friends Kekoa accepted Mariko's offer, but asked to stay with her to help raise the children.
An unual arrangement for their race, but after killing so many he wanted to help give life for a change.

The pair gave birth to twins, Keanu and Kapua. Despite both having Spartoi names, they took the mothers family name of Ikazuchi.
For a while the family lived happily,
until the day an invader came to their home.

Kekoa fought the invader bravely but lost his life. Mariko was forced to defend her children, losing her leg in the battle. They were saved in the nick of time by Xin the Wildfire, Kekoa's war buddy. However Kapua was never seen since, presumed dead.
Keanu blamed himself for the loss of his sister, asking Xin to make him his apprentice and learning the ways of the mercenary.
Now living alone, Mariko turned her home into a hotspring inn. Despite Keanu visiting rarely, she keeps in regular contact with her son and Xin.

My main character Harper has lived with her mom and dad in Houston Texas, all her life until recently, when she moved to California with her older brother. On her dad's side, both her grandparents moved to America from Nigeria and had her dad in Georgia. On her mom's side, both parents were childhood friends in Kansas before getting married and moving to Georgia.

Dallas' family history is a bit more complicated. He was born in London but grew up in California. both his birth parents are dead (mom died giving birth to his younger sister Mia when he was 3 and dad died when he was 14, but he doesn't really care about his dad because he sucked) and he doesn't know his grandparents on his mom's side. All he knows is that they disowned their daughter because she had the nerve to be a woman with opinions and loved art. On his fathers side, his grandparents were filthy rich and practically owned London. His parents went through an arranged marriage and not the kind where they fall in love later. He now lives with his sisters and his "stepmom" who he sees as his real mother, Aliza. (I love Aliza).

P.S. If you try to tell Dallas that Aliza isn't actually his mother, He'd have some interesting words for you. She is his maternal figure and therefore his mother.

Here is about Darius' family

Kattar Moon is the first gen American on his mother's side. He doesn't know a lot about his dad's family, but he knows his mother's family came to the States from Mexico when his mom was 13, and his mom got her citizenship in her early twenties.

Actually, I just realized a whole lot of my ocs are immigrants or children of immigrants, must be because I'm third gen American myself.

Let’s start with the grandparents then work our way down to our Oc Elyn

The grandfather on the dad’s side was a priest ,who fell in love with their grandmother. For the first few years of their marriage they lived in the Kingdom of Bazaca but moved to Honeyshade when the father was around six years old.

The mother’s family lived in Honeyshade for generations.

Elyn’s parent s grew up together in the same neighborhood.Fun fact but the mom is three years older than the dad. They got married when the dad was 23 and the mom 26. Then after a couple of years they had Elias and then Elyn.

Also another fun fact Elyn and her brother are some what fluent in a few ancient languages because their grandfather taught them .

My OC's family situation is complicated. My OC's name is Evelyn. Evelyn's family in the other dimension sent her soul to our world before she was born. Her family in our world hid her in the house because of her special powers and did not let her go out. And they died when Evelyn was only 6 years old.

In a distant galaxy, a devastating war drives various races to send their unborn souls to other dimensions for safety. Evelyn, a girl from the Astral Kingdom, is one of these souls and has now been reincarnated on Earth, oblivious to her true identity and immense powers. Alongside six other children with unique gifts and mysterious pasts, Evelyn tries to lead a normal life. But as hidden truths begin to surface, these children must confront the shadows of their origins and the destiny that awaits them.

Akio was an adopted child, His father was forced to abandon him when he was an infant and put him next to a house, because he was afraid that some organization was after him and he did not want to involve his son in the matter, after that Akio lived with his new family and he was happy with them, when he grew up to 9 years old child, he discovered his elemental lightning power, and he decided to become a samurai and began training to fight.

Rae's father is the Shak, making Rae basically a prince. However, when his mother died in childbirth, he was pushed to the fringes of the court in favor of his new step-family. 13 years later, he has 6 younger half-sisters. At the start of the novel, he is living with his maternal aunt, uncle and cousin, but soon ends up returning to court.

Alicia is Mexican and Navajo. Her mother and mother's sisters grew up in the U.S., but her grandparents on her mother's side were born and grew up in Mexico. Her father was Navajo on his mother's side and Mexican on his father's side, but he grew up in the Navajo Nation in Arizona, were his little sister (only living close relative) still lives.

Alicia was born in Baltimore, and only has mild ties to Navajo culture. She's much more familiar with Mexican culture since she grew up with her mother's sisters living nearby, and her father's family was literally more than 1000 miles away.
