I have a lot of pet peeves but one of my most irrational is:

When I realize that I work too hard and barely get any recognition. Oh gosh now that I read this it sounds kinda narcissistic but I can't help it.

Having to draw the second eye after you've spent 20 minutes on the first one.

When after you post your work on social media and notice the tiny speck still hanging there, proceed to fix it in 0.05 seconds and try to re-upload, only to find several people have already seen and shared it. ;u;

Also, finding which layer the speck came from...

... Writing the same reply twice in a dialogue and not noticing it until someone points it out.

That's kind of frustrating.

Oh, another one, as we're talking about social media: when you post your art or stuff related to your art on social media and only 3 people react (including your mother and your great aunt) vs. you post a picture of yourself and get 50+ reactions.
Seriously, why do you care more about my face than about what really defines me, people? If you know me you know I don't care about this limited flesh vessel!

Sometimes when I skim through some comics, I can clearly tell when a base (pre-drawn body outlines that tend to come from popular manga/anime) is being used vs. when the artist actually drew it themselves.

Like, I get it. We all start somewhere, but don't use bases from Naruto. It's noticeably different and I would rather read a comic that the artist drew themselves.

Asking for feedback, then getting crushed, when you actually get feedback, because the genuine criticism hurts. Like.. why did I ask for this?

People taking my art and re-uploading it to other places without my permission.

For real people have found my comics re-uploaded to porn sites (even though my comics do not have porn in them)

I've been told I should just be happy for the extra exposure and to not complain.

Asking for criticism and getting pity instead! Hello I all ready know I'm shit at drawing explain why I am, not dump a whole lode of sugar on a lie and tell me that I'm not!

• 1.drawing somthing complex and someone comes up to you like hey can u show me how to draw that and i start showing them how and they get frustrated and they quit in like 2 seconds because they have 0 patience

• 2.Showing someone my art that i think they will really like it and they just say “oh” >>>feelsbadman.jpg

• Sitting down all day not good for that ass. Also having to crane my neck to get the right details.

• 4.Seeing someone who has little to no skill in drawing and they have a huge following and get insane amounts of commisions. Maybe its just me being jealous but ive accepted that i will always be annoyed by this, even if i already know the reasons why. (Reasons being they just have more exposure than the avg artist or they do a niche thing that many people like)

• Carple tunnel. Ive had it really bad this month to the point where i was forcing myself to draw even though it hurt like a MF but because i like drawing so much i just sat theough that.

• 6.Getting too much attention when someone shows alot of people my art. I showed a teacher one of my deviantart peices and she nearly had a stroke, kept asking me over and over if i really drew it. And she showed the whole class my art now everyone was asking me ‘how did u do dis’ ‘hwat character is dis’ ‘can u draw me plx’ and the anxiety came on so strong i wished i diddnt show it to her

• 7.When i decide to do youtube tutorials my drawing ability goes completely to shit and i end up trashing the tutorial.

• 8.Lineart. Oh my god. That is the most stressful, goddamn thing. I look at anime artists and i go “what... how... how is this so clean and straight” i mean really. Ive grown a resentment towards lineart because of this, and its why i started getting into more realistic digital painting. Yes i know how to do basic neat lineart but that is too much and it goes on for hours till i get it right.

• 9.Because the art teacher knows you are thousands of miles past everyone else they give you a harder assignment

• 10.I dont know why but, alot of artists have trouble with their mental health. Its a big issue that little people discuss. I thik it needs to be discussed to figure out why so many creative people get depressed more easily than any other profession.

• 11.People that shame porn art. My dude, art is art. Just dont look, no ones forcing you to look at it. If an artists getting paid good to draw yiff why are you getting mad? Dude is making mad change and what are you doing to get paid?

• 12.Why is it that i cant draw at 1pm but i am all the sudden a picasso in the making when i start drawing at 4AM?

• 13.People telling an artist what they can and cant draw. Like with the RCDART situation (just google it if you dont know) if an artist starts drawing something you dont like, its ok to voice your opinion but it aint ok to be an asshole just because they aren’t drawing what you want them to draw. There are millions of artists and you want this one guy to cater to your whims? wtf?

• 14.Having to sacrifice creativity for exposure.
  This includes drawing the most popular thing knowing youll get exposure bc of it, or drawing in a certain style knowing more people will like it. And i know thats just the way things are and you just have to work past it.

• 15.Artists walking on eggshells when they draw black people. I get it you dont want to look racist. God for bid you draw a lip a bit too big or the skin a bit too dark or heaven forbid you draw them eating fried chicken! I mean come on jesus christ i find this kind of stuff childish. Yes its good to get the right facial features right if you want to draw a specific race. But i dont think you should be worrying or telling anybody else to worry about being racist when doing so. If your going to do that then maybe you shouldnt be drawing black people at all.

• 16.Boobs/butts that are balloon shaped. I dont know whats going on but i notice when alot of people draw boobs they just draw literally two circles. I see this alot in sexualized peices. Many many artists do this, not just the amateurs.... i dont know whats stopping you from giving that boob some droop. But by god, please do it.

People thinking I'm an artist when I'm a writer.

-people breathing down my neck while I'm trying to draw
-people asking "is that you???" whenever I happen to draw a character with the same hair or eye colour as me (or the same gender, doesn't matter what they look like, people will automatically assume it's me if I'm drawing a girl....)
-telling me I should draw a comic of "insert boring generic story here/topic I have no interest in that they should just make themselves
-telling me "art school isn't hard, you just draw stuff!" I HAVE NOT SLEPT MORE THAN 4 HOURS IN WEEKS
-when the ink on my dip pen dries up too fast
-when paper meant for a specific medium doesn't actually work well with that medium and the paper was expensive
-the cost of art supplies in general
-being told your art is "too pedestrian" by art snobs who don't think it should be allowed to draw things that you enjoy and make you happy
