Thanks @agentfink when you see my recent Juvies strips you'll definately see the improvement LOL
@Kaos_Comics As always with your comics, there's a really nice play with colors and expressions in this page! I think your musclebound, confused friend got me the most here. His expression is just so dumbfounded! This one got a giggle out of me, but not as much as a few previous ones have; I had to re-read it twice to follow the unspoken action in the third panel. I still very much enjoyed the art and colors though, and the expressions in the final panel are pretty priceless!
Here's the newest page from Atonement!
@donathinfrye Oh, the details in this page, they're incredible! Beautiful setting. It's really immersive work, not to mention the strong contrast of the text across the page -- it really interrupts the character's reading here! And it works nicely to pull multiple panels together while providing different shots so we can progress to the visitor. Your atmosphere's great, it has quite a cinematic quality.
And please let me share with you the latest page from There's No Such Thing as Jason - I.T.! After his brother swooped in to ruin his impromptu date night, Jason's left alone to stew. Quite defiantly, View's finally starting to emerge as a result~
hello, im new here and I hope we get along, here is my critic
Although i see a good art, with good valoration on the lineart i think that the BG painting absorbs a lot of your character, shifting the atention of the idea on the panel, i would try to make the Character or the action stand out more, may be making the BG simpler at the lineart or at the painting, may be even highlighting your chararter doing a little fade of the colors arround him (i dont paint my comics as I work with ink and brush/pencils, so I dont know how it can go in panels, as is not just an illustration. I hope you can get something of my POV.
Now, my turn, Im sharing HAT TRICK5 the first episode of a series that i did long time ago, but now im "remastering" so it matches my actual drawing style, as im not getting much views im in need of attention xD
greetings!
PD: i have another comic if u want to look too ;D
@p4blowl Hi There! Welcome to Tap & the thread!
Since you didn't post a page, I went through your comic. I like the energy in your line work. Your lettering is inconsistent in a few areas (watch out for Crossbars on the I's being used in the middle of a sentence) and overall balance of your text within the bubbles. Also, I realize that English may not be your first language, so I understand that some things may get lost in translation, but some sentences don't sound natural as it may be in Spanish (maybe have a translator?)
As I said before, I think that the art has great energy, but I feel story wise, it's holding my hand way too much. Everything is explained fast and not left up to the reader to discover-- which is fine if that is the type of story you want to tell (telling, rather than showing, over explaining I guess). Some things are confusing, like the hamster-- while cute-- and obviously Rocio's pet-- she seems a bit distant from it? Little things like that. Overall nice comic. I'm not really getting into a real critique of the comic itself, just some things I notice as a first time reader. Welcome to the thread!
(Almost done with the first chapter!)
@agentfink Seeing as how I'm already a happy subscriber to your series I'm gonna try and avoid commenting on the series as a whole (spoiler: it's awesome) and focus on this page in particular. It's hard for me to find anything that stands out as negative and that I can give constructive criticism on. The flow of dialogue is excellent, you get a sense for the characters just from how they interact and talk with one another and their expressions. The artwork is clean and for me personally inspiring. I find a lo of stuff to improve in my own work when looking at yours. I also love how you manage keep every panel detailed yet free from clutter and distraction And how some use simple backgrounds compared to more detail. I'm dreading and looking forward to the last page of the first chapter (dat rock).
In today's Voidchild, we get to talking about fathers as well as mothers!
Nailed it! A woman carrying a baby and says I have something to tell you... You the daddy!
Todays Juvies!
Oh! The poor guy! I really enjoyed the dark humor in this comic, and I like the comedial expression on the guy on the 2nd panel.
Here's the latest page from my comic, The Chronicles of SolLuna
@GFalconDX I really like the way your panels are shot. it has great rhythm you've created by alternating close ups and shots from further away. Balanced colors too!
Page for Fallacy
@Damatris nice water color look to the art work and line variation (something i admit i'm bad at)
today's Talesfromswipecity
My newest page is about a mystic fish. I got the idea just from sitting around. All my comics are just the thoughts i have during the day, and this one is no different. This guy goes on a journey to find the mystic screaming fish, and he finds it. he asks the fish what the meaning of life is, and the fish just screams, as expected. THE ENDS!
Page: TiddlyWonks!1
@marcoalexandroparra I love you color choices! So fun and hilarious! I really like his facial expression! It's gold! XD
Here's the latest from Whetstone2:
@jessicasurline THa's a very intense page. And I love the use of dynamic backgrounds and tilted panels as I feel this enhances the intensity. Your characters look solid and there's nothing to add there but nice work. Also, you make drawing cloth look easy. I'm might go study your stuff a bit so I can figure it out.
I'll admit that I'm torn on the method of your coloring. I'm not sure I have the vocabulary to describe it, but it feels a bit "grainy". Zoomed out, I don't even think about it. But when I get closer it catches my eyes. I say torn because on the one hand, it lends itself to a non-traditional style and is probably very subjective.
I'll add in that her expressions are remarkably well done. Another thing I might look at your stuff to copy. =)
The latest page of Voidchild!
Oh man, this has such a cool layout, that's the first thing that hits me about this page! Solid, tight focus on the characters with an increasingly grim sense of foreboding going on. I really admire the angles, too, totally effective segways with the dialogue (that last line against the transference is incredible!). This simplified value scale pushes the mood even further and amps up the blue glow of the character's eyes in the second panel excellently! You've got a terrific sense of establishment and pacing, yo. All respect to your work here!
I would like to share my most recent page from There's No Such Thing as Jason -- I.T.1~ Just as Jason curls up at the base of a stop sign in self-existential woe, the owner of the very number he's lost shows up. What luck, right? X]
I've commented on a few of your pages by now but I never get tired of getting the chance to! As usual, it's such a treat to look at and your style still makes me melt. I think of all the pages I've gotten the chance to comment on in this thread, this one is my favorite. It's such cool and unique lighting and I really, really love the mysteriousness of Jason. I'm definitely intrigued! I'd say keep up the awesome work but I already know you will! Can't wait to see more!
Here's the latest City of Blank page, which happens to also be the last page of chapter 3! Onward to chapter 4!
@Riko Okay, I gush over your pages whenever I happen upon them-- giving you crit here and there in regards to how you execute your art--- I'm not gonna do that (but the page is good!) Instead, I am going to gush over the shoes. OMG-- I love the shoes! I have this thing about well drawn shoes! I love the form and line work on men's dress shoes and boots... so your page is border line shoe porn for me! Love the page
The last page for chapter 1. Going on hiatus for a bit!
The Pale 1.303
