Not quite like that, I did let my parents know, but not the details. As a super naive kid, me and my best friend stayed overnight at her uncle's apartment.

Here's the thing.
1)Her mom told my mom we would stay in a place and we didn't because??????
2)It was half the city over, and during a vacation
3)My friend and the mom didn't actually know the uncle very well, meaning we slept in a stranger's house.

This is the story of how I lost contact with my best friend forever as of 10 years. Wasn't my fault really, and we did try to reach out once my mom was sure I wouldn't do that again and they had moved already, but it still sucks.

I slept at a lot of strangers houses because I was homeless for a couple years as a teen. And I didn’t tell my family about it because if I could I probably wouldn’t have been homeless 🤡

Na man, I'm too paranoid to do anything like that haha. I literally walk to my car from the grocery store carrying my keys like wolverine claws ready to stab somebody. I have metal baseball bats by my door in my home lmao. And I am an excellent dog trainer with an affinity for pitbulls and dobermans, any man who tries to mess with me isn't going to catch me by surprise. Also, edit, I'd like to point out that I usually travel with a dog everywhere, so I'm not really alone in the first place I guess? People literally go to the other side of the street when they see me walking with my dogs lmao

For some reason, in society, I always consider myself the biggest threat. It's weird, because I'm neither violent or armed, and even if I'm not small, I'm not either a muscular giant.

Sometimes, I worry retrospectively about my lack of preservation instinct/overconfidence, though. A few years ago, I send packing pretty unceremoniously a couple hunters who came trying to intimidate me into letting them hunt on my land, by getting a whole arsenal out of their trucks and telling me own easy it is to kill with them, looking straight in my eyes etc. Afterwards I thought that was not my smartest move ever (although the fact nothing ever happened reinforces my feeling that such interactions are just about who bluff the best). Still will try to be more careful.

Keys are not a good weapon. I'd even say, they're very bad weapon. If you'll try to stub someone with them, you'll hurt your own hand.
I personally carry pepper spray with me. Of course, after training with one spray for test.
