I put this under promotions since people might as well do that here anyway lol.

So I'd like to ask everyone these questions.

When did you first create your story(s)?
What gave you the idea for it / them?
What are some fun facts about your story(s)?

I'll start off with my own story.

I first created CALM when I was 15. I drew the cover in highschool with the main characters = Suzy, Mister Mimic, Emily and Poochy. From that I wrote half a novel on my computer before I dropped it.
Now roughly 16 years later I have picked it up again and am remaking it in comic form.
Honestly this was such a long time ago, I can't remember most of the reasons behind why I made the story or what inspired it. Possibly just an idea from boredom. Like shower thoughts.
Some characters you will see in the series were never in the original. So I did tweak it a bit to make it more interesting.

well I wanted to be an animator so I imagined the first show I would create it was inspired by star wars, It begin as a series of adventures of space tenager agents that protect the space I created it back in 2012-2013,then they become stand alone no longer agents and became heroes on their own several versions of this story later and now is about a crew of people that transports folks across space.

the idea was making a comic first get it popular and then make it into an animated series maybe I would make a crowndfunding to make a pilot and sell it, but now I'm just happy to have a web comic.

this avatar from my profile pciture is one of the versions of the protagonist that still havent apeared in the current version.

now i'm currently rewriting and redoing the first episodes.

the prototype episode was released in another comic I created called space for stories, several changes were made but they are still the same characters.

1.) I created my story back in 2016. It started as little notes to myself.
2.) I was going through a lot at the time and it was my way of venting.
3.) The main characters name is Soledad but he goes by Sole and his love interest is named Alma which means Soul in Spanish. So they are Soulmates.

1: The legend of mount bermejo first story i created by 2015, but at that time the story and the comic wasnt the one that I was trying to do. I Then redesign the character and on 2019 created Birth of a Legend.
2. The original idea of this character was to be in a platform video game, but i left that idea and turn it into a comicbook, was a better idea and one that I could bring to life.

I wanted something that would be fun to write and that would be kinda funny. If your story is funny or kinda funny then sub me and I will sub you back. I like to read stuff that has some humor in it! This is a creative idea for a thread! Very interesting

The characters for "Signs Point to Bobbie" were created when I was 16 so...8 years ago now! But the idea for this comic happened a couple years ago.
It all started when I wanted to diversify my cast of OCs. I decided to make deaf and hard of hearing characters, and after years of research I was finally ready to make something with them!
The series actually started as a completely different story...When I first made the characters it was going to be a drama comic and Bobbie was actually a side character! But the old story sucked so I'm glad it turned out this way lmao

It is pretty cool to see characters with disabilities shown in stories.

It reminded me of how my character from CALM, "Mister Mimic", has a... I wouldn't say disability, but a deformity? He only has one eye. That being said it never bothers him and he couldn't care less if he had one or two eyes. o3o

I first wrote Elf Noir in 2015.
The idea grew from a homebrew Pathfinder campaign my friend/DM was running for my gaming group loosely inspired by an elven slum in a video game. I loved the setting, the dystopian/noir combo feel, and the edgy, dark characters. I have also mixed in mystery, suspense, horror and other elements. Hopefully bits of humor as well.
Although my novel diverges fairly early on from the campaign adventure path it's based on, each of the six characters my friends and I created and played appear in it - three as major characters, one as a minor character, and two have cameo appearances. This is the only time I have ever written in first person present tense. My biggest fear in posting here was that everyone would absolutely hate antihero Arq, my main character. He's such a jerk.

1.I first created my story sometime last week,after spending week’s thinking about the concept, kinda of seeing the flow in my head.
2. The idea for The Lost Forest the novel I’m writing came from a couple of micro fiction short stories prompts I did with my writing group.( I need to get back into that it was really fun lol) I began falling in love with the Mc Elyn and the world that she inhabits.
3. TollKeeper is becoming one of my favorite characters. Each city, villages has its own unique entering the afterlife portal location

I first created Cracking Eggs around late 2021 and the second draft (the current storyline) in 2022 and it’s ongoing.

Cracking Eggs was conceived after I was reading an article on FactRepublic about Ridiculous Laws around the world or something. And this is the fact I came across. “American eggs are illegal in the UK for being washed and British eggs are illegal in the United States for being unwashed.”

Almost a few days immediately after I learned that fact, I got the cracked up idea to make this into a crime comedy out of it! I came up with Jack and Winston’s character designs right after. Originally Cracking Eggs was going to take place in a cyberpunk dystopian London in the future, but I set it in modern day, around the mid 2010s to make it more relevant.

Later in 2022 I made up the entire cast as it is today. Eric Stanford, Wellington, though he was a character in the original draft, he was a very one dimensional background character with still from the design of the futuristic design. Anyway, that’s how Cracking Eggs came to be!

I started Elsie at the beginning of 2023 but I had the concept in my mind since 2021.

There was an impressionist painting at the hotel I stayed at the time of a girl in a beautiful dress and a parasol and I really liked the aesthetic. I was also really bored at church one day and I just wrote down “Victorian steampunk superhero”

The idea wouldn’t come until 2022 when I made some friends where I lived who liked steampunk and we did DND sessions with that kind of a setting.

Elsie came from a lot of different factors and I didn’t have a simple development for it as Cracking Eggs. I’ve developed the concept since 2021 but didn’t start drawing anything until the beginning of 2023. Elsie had a long concept and I left it on the shelf for a while but here we are!

Fun fact:

Elsie technically is older than Cracking Eggs. At least by when I came up with the idea.

The characters of NCC have been in my head as far back as the sixth grade.
Every coming-of-age TV show I watched as a kid, and most that have come out since. Particularly the ones that show junior high and high school as "totally awesome" and "the best years of your life" while you hear on the news about bullying, mental health issues, and right-wing politicians dictating school curriculae during, let's face it, one of the worst times to be a kid in human history (9/11, wars, recessions, inflation, a pandemic, certain public figures whom shall remain nameless).
All of the faculty at this school are named after actors who played Batman villains on the 1966 TV show. Frank Gorshin's Riddler was my favorite, so he got to be the principal.

Originally this story, or the concept of this science fiction setting was around 2018. At the time I was writing fanfiction and nothing original so I wanted to make something of my own.

It was going to be a comic but over the years I proved it to be better written with words.

It was called Go Omega at first as well as several names I can’t remember.

This story has a long, very complicated history. Maybe one day I could write a freaking three hour long video essay about it.

Today I consider this story my greatest achievement and my greatest failure, but it did lay the foundations for my stories to come.

I began writing Ravenswood around March this year after spending some time to get the characters and world together. I’m a pantser so I have to put pen to paper for the story to actually come.
I was writing a webnovel when the idea for this story came along, I’m a big fan of medieval stories and I also love isekai; I was reading lord of the mysteries which deals with transmigration themes, and then I thought about putting a lord of the mysteries kind of plot into a game of thrones type of world.
Fun fact about the series? Hmmm... the world is so vast even I don’t know everything yet, but I can guarantee that it’s beautiful.

My story has been through lots of rewrites, and the time I decided to write a story based on me and my partner's OCs dates way back to 2019.
Since my story is basically a slice-of-life slow romance, the idea stemmed from my relationship with my partner, albeit completely written differently so it wouldn't feel like too much of a projection story, and since it went through lots of rewrites, the current version of the story is the most polished version I've wrote yet.
Not much fun facts but I do like a wholesome story with a little bit of drama. Since my story is about writing novels and drawing illustrations, the characters have a backstory that drives them to pursue such careers. While exploring the mindset of someone who has emotional struggles and personal problems as they cope using their hobbies.

Lord here we go lol.

I started Nocturne 21 when I was an angsty high school freshmen almost 20 years ago.
Initially I got the idea from just having a really bad day at school and home and I grabbed a crappy composition notebook and just started scribbling the first story that came to mind. It was really awful. Like, a crappy version of all my favorite anime at the time; yu yu hakusho, rurouni kenshin, DBZ, etc.
Hm…some fun facts.
-The inciting spark for Nocturne’s creation was because I wanted to buy a Rurouni kenshin dvd but I left my money at home. I asked my dad to lend me the money and he said he only would lend it to me if I climbed a mountain with him. I can’t remember if I took his deal or not, but I was really mad because I had the money at home and he couldn’t just lend me some for like an hour.
-Another fun fact is that in the 4th version of Nocturne, Kai didn’t have the name Kai. Since he couldn’t remember his name, the Shimizus just called him something different everyday. Made for some fun gags, but was a little too silly.
-Nocturne 21 was originally called “Watashi no ame” since I was obsessed with Japan and the story had a heavy theme around rain.
-Kai didn’t have amnesia the first 2 iterations
-Some of the names were changed like Yoshiko used to be Yoshiro, but that’s traditionally a male name and past me didn’t do any research on anything.
-My very first original comic I made when I was 11 and I have plans to revive that. That universe overlaps with Nocturne and two characters have already made cameos.

That sounds like an interesting story for sure. One I can definitely relate to. o7o School life especially in the 90's / 2000's was hell for kids with mental disabilities.

I first came up with my story idea in my 10th-grade year of high school, so I was about 15 years old at the time.
I was really into Lollipop Chainsaw and Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and I wanted to create something that had the same energy.
Stacy’s catchphrase is “groovy”, but it's not a reference to Ash Williams. I had never seen any of the Evil Dead movies until recently and I was kinda surprised to find out that was also his thing.

This is gonna be a long one!

1-When did you first create your story(s)?

This iteration of my comic was created in 2021. It's actually an amalgamation of various different ideas I had years ago that I thought would work well together.

2-What gave you the idea for it / them?

Nothing in particular, I just wanted to make a story that contains a combination of elements that I though would never be made. So I made it myself. Here are the basic things I wanted to make:

a- I wanted it to have a power system inspired by the Stands of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.(If you know what they are, my power system is basically the same, with unique characteristics obviously)

b- I wanted it to happen in my country Argentina. Especially because my story is originally in Spanish, so I wanted a fantasy story with characters that speak argentinian spanish.

c- The main character needed a 'underpowered' ability. Basically, his power isn't easy to use. I wanted him to have a power with limits and restrictions because I prefer when characters win by outsmarting their opponent.

d- In general I wanted to keep the power level on Street Level. In this particular story I didn't want characters that can just destroy entire buildings with ease.

3-What are some fun facts about your story(s)?

Just like my inspiration of JoJo's, the main characters have musical references, specifically they have nicknames that reference Argentinian Music. In the English version they are all translated.
Ex: The main character is referred as the "Arriero" which is a reference to the song 'El arriero va' by Atahualpa Yupanqui. A very iconic Argentinian folk song.

I wrote a big novel intended to be a series a few years back; however, I never quite captured the essence of what I was trying to portray. I didn't feel as if I knew of enough about things I wanted to say. I also experienced major burn out and a lack of creativity. So, I kind of buckled down last year and focused on things I like, such as video game stories, manga, anime, tv shows, etc. (also real life ofc). To be more observant and really focus on what makes stories or moments compelling or entertaining. Plus, I was in Graduate School continuing my English / Writing degree, so that helped too. So, within a month or so I created my novel, CLAN ROYALE.
The idea came from a feeling I've had for a long time. As a kid you see the world's magic, possibilities, imagination, etc. Even as an adult you can still see imaginative things but it's grounded by reality and logic. So, I've always wanted to draw/write/or act in scenarios or stories where you cannot experience IRL. In short, I basically imagined and wrote about that fantastical life, think, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Genshin Impact, etc. So, Clan Royale(series) was the first steps into creating a new magical world that invites people in to come be along for the adventure.
Ignoring the controversy around it, I will give 2 examples, if people are familiar such as Harry Potter, for one. I'm not entirely crazy about the story itself; however, I always liked how it created this community that people could join in (the houses) be a part of create their cosplay, fan fiction, art, etc. Similar can be said about the more recent Genshin Impact (for you gamers) As an artist, I noticed how people enjoy the characters, story, and the fantastical elements in that world and try creating their own character, element, or lore. So, this inspired me to craft my own "CLAN ROYALE" as elemental clans on the brink of destruction and war when an outsider falls onto their world and shakes things up. So, it's like, I wanted the "party/friends" of Inuyasha, the Magical Girl/Boy moment of Sailor Moon, and the Magical Moments/Lore of Genshin to craft someone who escapes their boring post-apocalyptic world and finds amazement in the magical world as they discover who they are.

I want to query this Novel to agents, I am currently trying and no luck so far. However, to gather attention/audience, I'm slowly making it into a webcomic for tapas, under STARFALL. It moves a little slower than the novel but it's got a lot more going on and details that weren't said in the actual novel.

Genre: Fantasy / Action Adventure / Magical Quest / Magical Boy/Girl / LGBTQ+
Synopsis: Evalieh defies his society, gets thrown out, and lands on a magical island full of clans on the brink of destruction as they take him in to solve their problems from the evil Shamans. Reluctant to do so, Evalieh goes along with this strange friendly clans because the island has cursed him to only live for two days, unless he binds with the magic of the island and helps out. So, he goes on a quest to gather 6 tears to restore the island and secure his path home.
