Like Aspie said, this is the bitching thread. It's not something I'd just bring up out of the blue somewhere else, but even if I were to, I see no issue with calling out bad behaviour and hypocrisy where I see it. There'll be more than enough time for silence when I'm dead.
These ideas permeate and infect almost every aspect of our culture. Case in point, webcomics is riddled with far left extreme activism, so no, it's no super easy to ignore.
As for liberal and progressive, I can't speak for Aspie, but when I use the term liberal, I mean an American liberal, a broad church to be sure, but we all know what it means in general, in opposition to conservative, open to change, supports big government, focus on enforcing equality and fairness as they define it.
Progressives to me are more interested in things like social justice and equity, and from my standpoint are much more dogmatic and extreme with regards to their ideology than regular liberals, although the two groups often overlap on certain topics. They're more often the ones spearheading moral panics, fostering regressive political correctness, playing identity politics, and engaging in censorship.
